Aqaba was a port city on the Red Sea, in southwest Asia on Earth.

Aqaba was invaded by Arab forces during World War I, in an unexpected raid from across the desert. This raid was depicted in the film Lawrence of Arabia, and alluded to by Captain David Rabin when the White Stone Clan of the Benak Haran agreed to join him and Spock in rescuing Dr. Leonard McCoy from a hideout in the Taragi-shar Range on Obsidian in 2296.
