Relief map of Africa.

Egypt was a country on the planet Earth, located in northern Africa and traditionally considered part of the Middle East.

Ancient Egypt[]

The Egyptians created a vast empire beginning circa 3150 BCE, and achieved many technological advances in mathematics, medicine, art and architecture. The Egyptians used obsidian blades to perform delicate surgeries. (TOS novel: Vulcan's Forge) The ancient Egyptians were particularly noted for their method of mummifying their dead, and for the elaborate tombs created for their rulers. Many of these tombs were discovered in what became known as the Valley of the Kings. The mysterious pyramids of Egypt were still objects of great interest to temporal scientists of the 31st century. (ENT episode: "Cold Front")

The Kingdom of Egypt was ruled by a monarch called a Pharaoh. Ramses II was one notable pharaoh who ruled for nearly six decades. (TOS episode: "Patterns of Force")

The Doctor and his two human friends, Amy Pond and Rory Williams, once visited ancient Egypt. There they discovered an escaped alien criminal who'd been posing as vizier to the Pharoah for several decades. After evading Egyptian soldiers, they made their way through the Pharoah's palace and confronted the disguised alien vizier in the throne-room. Though the Doctor gave the alien criminal a chance to flee, it transformed into its true form and threatened to attack. The Doctor sucked the alien back into its cell and explained to the Pharoah that the alien had been planning to harness the Nile's kinetic energy to power a tachyon pulse inverter, which would have ignited Earth's atmosphere and burned half of its surface. The Doctor gained the Pharoah's assistance in finding the TARDIS. (TNG - Assimilation² comic: "Issue 1")

In the late 23rd century, the USS Enterprise discovered a near-duplicate of ancient Egypt on the planet Zeta Reticuli II. (TOS comic: "We Are Dying, Egypt, Dying!")

Theology[]

The ancient Egyptians were polytheistic, worshiping many gods. These gods, including Thoth, were discovered in the late 24th century to have been alien Beings, who had visited Earth in the earliest days of human civilization. (NF novels: Being Human, Gods Above)

Modern Egypt[]

Egypt in the 24th century was known for producing good quality crops. (DS9 novel: The Laertian Gamble) In the year 2266, James T. Kirk, Spock, Leonard McCoy and Montgomery Scott visited the Great Pyramid along with famous mathematician and pacifist Alfred Bleikoff. Bleikoff was amazed at the progress made in reclaiming the desert around the monument. (TOS comic: "Prophet of Peace")

Ven Kaldarren and his son, Jason Garrett, visited Egypt and the Valley of the Kings in 2335. (TLE novel: Well of Souls)

Starfleet officer Dina Elfiki was a native of Egypt. (TNG novel: Greater Than the Sum)

The Regulan humans were of originally egyptian descend.

Geography[]

The Nile was a river in Egypt. (TNG - Assimilation² comic: "Issue 1")
