Is there a search feature in mobile web to search chat rooms ?

Ex: How can I find Kotlin chat room ? (Without exploring pagination links one by one)

If it's in your favourites you can open the "favorite" tab, otherwise I'd recommend just switching to the full site mode, searching, and then switching back to mobile mode after joining Commented Apr 16, 2020 at 14:23
  • @Nick there is no search bar in the favorite tab. Thank you very much for the suggestion :)

I know there's no search bar, but I meant that generally your favourites will be short enough to be able to see it if you've previously added it to your favourites, rather than having to go through the pages :) Commented Apr 16, 2020 at 14:36

Not exactly mobile chat web, but most browsers have a "Show desktop site" button as a part of the browser settings. It'll let you quickly enable it for the navigation portion, but the short answer is that there isn't a search bar in the mobile variant. As for the feature request aspect of it, eh... Chat hasn't been actively developed in years (along with the mobile apps, just with the main exception that the apps are completely abandoned). We'll have to do with hackish workarounds of various types until it is, unfortunately. Commented Apr 16, 2020 at 15:19
  • To close voters this problem is still there, don't close it as not reproducible. Commented Sep 13 at 14:44
  • @AbdulAzizBarkat is it? If the question is talking about the app (as evidenced by the [mobile-web] tag) then this Q&A should be closed regardless. If the question is talking about the current website on a mobile device, then I can't reproduce - I see both search bars (for messages and rooms) when navigating to the chat/rooms page.

@kmdreko you're most likely looking at the "full site view" (Which is the same as what we see on Desktop) for chat. On mobile chat has two views and "full site view" is not the default, the default view has no search bar. Commented Sep 19 at 14:25
  • @AbdulAzizBarkat I guess I'm shown the "desktop" version through no intervention of my own, but I'll assume you see a different version. Even so, this question should be either retagged (if we assume that OP's tags were incorrect) or simply re-posted with the focus on the current design.
