I really enjoyed this show. The show lacks character development, being a short series, and the show relied heavily on fan service. But, the show had a ton of callbacks to the original OVA series, and had a good overall story. I also really enjoyed the voice cast. The voice work was good, and they brought back most of the VAs from the original dubs. This was pretty nostalgic, and certainly did a lot to add to the presentation of the show.

Overall, the show was really fun to watch, but lacked depth because of the format. This would've been much better had they produced ...

Story: 5/10
The story is, in it of itself. not to bad but the execution is sloppy. The habit of jumping around between plot points at the beginning of the story was annoying. Normally it is acceptable to have a flashback to see the events that started the plot, but Ai Tenchi Muyuo overuses it. This is more a directing fault than writing, and I'm sure that if I had watched the episodes out of order so that they were in chronological order I would have probably given this section a better score. I am fan of the Tenchi Muyo! franchise, it does have its bad parts but even the worst parts of the franchise can't ruin my memories I had when I first watched it years ago. Then I watched Ai Tenchi Muyou and well I expected average the more I think about it after I had some time since completing my watch of it, the more I'm upset about it.

So the plot is that for some reason, Washu has to have Tenchi try to find the cause of something going in the past, but it could also be something from a different dimension, but also from ...
