Series exploring a professional sport with details regarding practice and techniques. Both are sports anime released in summer season 2017.

Aimed mainly toward the female audiences. Both include a Male strong cast; with most of the characters obsessed with water and their respective water sport. Both include a lot of fan-service for the ladies as well as a lot of BL as to be expected.

Both focus on a one person sport, and the growth of the mc. Both have a coach that influenced this growth and show the connections with the other limited competitors. The growth of the other competitors is a bit more depicted in Dive!! though. If you like one you'll likely enjoy the other. :)

Dive!! Looks similiar, for me, to Cheer Danshi. Not the same aspect (art and story), but it gives you the same feeling(Both MC's). The story of both animes are great. Art is good too, and the spirit of "fighting" of both MC are almost the same.

Both have : - Real bromance and awkward situations - Really beautiful chara design and animations - Sport and competition topics - Newbie evolving in a new passion

The protagonist of both series are not the most talented individual in their team, but carve out a respectable place in the team. A lesson learned by the main character of each series is that strong athletes focus on their own growth and success for the benefit of the team. Playing a competitive sport means taking away the opportunities of others to be part of the team. It also means sacrificing being a regular student with a social life. How you deal with this reality will influence your future as an athlete.

Two anime from the same studio, based on light novels from the last decade and which were also both adapted into two very obscure manga and live action movies, one year apart from eachother. I may be wrong but I think they're also from the same author. Both have lots of corny teen drama, and are really just soap opera in anime form.
