I'm not sure why, but I've gotten into giving reviews lately so I felt the need to explain why I personally rate this anime a 10/10 and have it as one of my absolute favorites.

I'm not like most of the die hard fans of Cowboy Bebop however. I didn't grow up watching it, or get into anime because of it (though I could have). I hadn't even heard of it until I was in high school and talked with a friend about anime. I remember watching the first episode and thinking "not bad, not bad. But I need to see more before I can ... determine if I like it." By episode 5 I was hooked.

The story might not be the greatest, but given the fact it is episodic, I'd say it's decent enough to be entertaining. The art style while dated, is still unique and interesting to me even now. But the true greatest part of this anime is it's soundtrack. Of course with Yoko Kanno as the composer the scores are going to be fantastic anyway, but still, it has to be mentioned that the soundtrack is amazing. As for the cast, well Jet, Spike, Faye, and Ed all remind me of real people, so I'd say they did a fantastic job of making them likable and personable.

I don't know what anyone expected with this one, so I don't see why anyone would complain about it. Not to mention it is an adaptation, and at least in my opinion that means this wasn't meant to be anything more than a way to draw attention to the game. In other words, don't watch this if you expect something. Expectations lead to being disappointed in this case.

If you're going to watch this, the only thing you should think about is killing time. Otherwise you will nitpick and complain about everything because you start focusing on any expectations you could have.

So I recently started to re-read this manga since I have it on my bookshelf and I realized a couple things that compelled me to give it a review on here, to explain why this is such a phenomenal story, at least to me.

Firstly, despite the large cast of characters and the fact only a handful really get focused on for more than a couple pages here and there, they are all distinct. Each character has their own drive and ambition that lets them stand up and really shine when it's their turn, and it's at a level far above other stories with large casts ... of characters.

Secondly, it's not just plot. We get silly, random moments all over the place, and there are several chapters that are funny and lighthearted. Of course this is because it would get pretty boring without the softer moments, but still. This is something I really want to mention, simply because you don't really want to gloss over some of these small moments. They help make the characters at times.

Of course there are other points that could be made and expanded on to explain why this is so amazing of a story. But I feel like the two thoughts I had are the ones that don't get brought up as much. So I'll just leave the review with this.

Assassination Classroom, or Anastsu Kyoushitsu if you'd prefer, is a wonderful story that I would recommend to just about anyone and everyone.

Story: 8/10
-This one is actually a rather enjoyable story... At least when you've gotten far enough along to learn it's not quite an isekai story like you probably thought it was after the first chapter. There are points with the story where it feels a bit fast paced, and there are points were I just groaned and mentally begged myself not to skip and risk missing something that might be important later on.

Art: 8/10
-I don't really know what to say about the art. I mean taste in art style is subjective. Personally I like it, but I can understand if others don't.

Characters: 7/10
-I could ... have given an 8, but the character department looses a point for Procell, the main character. But I don't want to spoil things so I won't go into detail on why. Other than that the other negative points are because of some of the cliches that are used as character traits. Not that those cliches are bad, it's just certain characters feel like they wouldn't even be in the story if it they didn't have those cliches.

Enjoyment: 9/10
-Of course there are cliches that annoy me in the story, but there's also a few twists that get thrown in every now and then to more than make up for it. I feel part of the reason I enjoy it so much is I didn't have any expectations. I was just looking for something to read when I found it, and so I might be giving it a bit more credit than most would.

Overall: 9/10
-Because it's the rating I gave it when I added it to my reading list. Side note if you check out how much I've read, I'm marking it by the Volume not chapter count. IDK how many chapters it is total, just that I've read through the 19th chapter of the 8th volume at this point.
