If you liked
Higurashi no Naku Koro ni

...then you might like
Gakkougurashi!

Higruashi, like gakkou gurashi will have you building crazy theories on who's going insane and what is really happening all the way through the series.
Two shows that blend slice-of-life moe with horror. You get introduced to the characters and learn to like them only to get thrust into a struggle for survival.
Similarly, Gakkougurashi revolves around a group of students. This anime also consists of horror, friendship, and mystery. There are also problems of knowing which is reality.
"Don't judge a book by its cover" - as the saying goes for both of this animes. Horror+Moe makes this both animes rock!

Both are really good at switching between the genres of moe/slice-of-life and psychological/horror.
Both also center around one or more of the characters being delusional and hallucinating things that aren't there, many of the times making the viewer not know what's happening in real life and what's just part of the character's imagination.

Both of these series offer a combination of the slice of life and horror genres.
Both feature cute looking girls that have darker personalities than you initially think. Both are part of the horror/psychological genre despite looking like a cute-ish slice of life. However, Higurashi is a lot gorier and creepier and the characters are a lot more bipolar compared to Gakkougurashi.

Moe / Innocent girl horror show, with combination of horror, school life, and slice of life ..
Similar to Higurashi, and characters (Yuki = Rena, Yuuri = Mion)
And both have a club activity that only main chara who become member ..
Beside it, there's one different from both, Higurashi tells chained murder (Oyashiro-sama's Curse), Gakkou Gurashi have unknown plague and zombies ...
Very gory, violence, and horror inside the moe cover ..
Both have a lot of SoL and Horror mixed together. Both have a moe/cute character that is mentally unstable
Higurashi no Naku Koro ni and Gakkougurashi has the similarities, in terms of horror genre, group of young/moe characters and they deal with different hostilities within the story. They also deal with different aspects of psychology like how these people behave etc.
On the other hand, the differences are Higurashi no Naku Koro ni mostly deals with the survival towards the mysterious killings at a village while Gakkougurashi mostly deals with the survival towards the post-apocalyptic zombie outbreak while they made their school as hideout.

The plot isn't as suspenseful, but the atmosphere is. Its more depressing deep down, but happier on surface (slice of life). Lot of suffering which main characters need to find ways to endure it.

Both have the "moe stuff to absolute crazy demented" and "okay this character is definitly crazy" way of telling the story, but higurashi has a much better execution at it. If you liked gakkougurashi, you are certainly going to like higurashi. I would recomend to read the Visual Novel but if that's not your thing then by all means watch the show.
Plus both of them end with "gurashi"!
