Sort of difficult to explain the correlation between these but I feel that the atmosphere and some of the story telling aspects are mirrors of one another

-The art style is basically the same, though Asano Inio pays more attention to detail
-Both feel very realistic and are masterfully written to make it feel like these stories actually happened
-In both, the main character is portrayed as more of an average human then a normal protagonist

Both give you the same sort of melancholy feeling after reading.
Different settings but the tension written into the situations found in both makes them very similar overall even though I am a Hero is not as realistically grounded as Punpun
