Arab al-Mulk (Arabic: عرب الملك, spelt Arab al-Milk an aw, Beldi al-Melek, Balda al-Milk or Beldeh) is a coastal veelage in northwastren Sirie, admeenistratively pairt o the Jableh Destrict in the Latakia Govrenorate, locatit sooth o Latakia. Nearbi localities include Jableh tae the north, Ayn al-Sharqiyah tae the northeast, Qurfays an Dweir Baabda tae the east an Baniyas tae the sooth. Accordin tae the Sirie Central Bureau o Statistics, Arab al-Mulk haed a population o 3,580 in the 2004 census.[1] The inhabitants are mixed, wi Sunni Muslims o Bedouin oreegins generally residin in the northren pairt o the veelage, an Alawites livin in the soothren pairt which is kent as Beldi al-Melek.[2]
Geografie
[eedit | eedit soorce]It is situatit aff the Mediterranean coast, on the richt bank o the Sinn tributar (Nahr al-Sinn) as it empties intae the sea. It occupees a sma peninsulae. The soothren pairt o the veelage on the left bank is kent as Beldi al-Melek. Tae the immediate northwast o the veelage is a sma creek that measurs aroond 110 metres lang an 60 metres wide.[3]
