Zaluzhny confirms that Marinka was captured by the Russian army 17:26

Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) Valery Zaluzhny confirmed that the Ukrainian city of Marinka was captured by the Russian army. His words were quoted by the local newspaper “Strana.ua” on its Telegram channel.

According to the publication, the Ukrainian commander-in-chief declared that this city “no longer exists.”

According to the military leader, the Armed Forces of Ukraine have abandoned the western outskirts of Marinka.

The newspaper quotes Zaluzhny’s statement as follows: “In some places they dug around Marinka, in others they dug a little further.”

This is the first such success of the Russian army since the capture of Bakhmut (Artemovsk) in May 2023.
