Overview[]
Perception is a hidden ship statistic to detect ships through another ship's Stealth. Perception begins at a base value of 5000. As described in the Starship Stealth skill unlock, the distance at which a ship can see through Stealth uses the following formula.
Perception - Stealth / 50 = km
Perception Bonus[]
Perception is improved by the Stealth Detection Rating shown on a Starship's statistic page, as well other bonuses that modify Perception directly. The flat Perception bonus for the Stealth Detection Rating uses the following formula. This value is added directly to Perception.
Perception Bonus = Stealth Detection Rating / 2
Base Stealth Detection Rating[]
The base value for the Stealth Detection Rating is calculated based on three modifiers.
- Starship Type
- Auxiliary Power
- Starship Perception (skill)
This base value is then calculated using the following formula.
Base = (Aux * Ship mod * ((Skill / 100) + 1))

StealthSight[]
StealthSight, also known as Starship Stealth Detection, is a percentage based bonus to Perception. The bonus given by having more than one item or ability with a StealthSight bonus is added together and multiplied against 5000, the base Perception. This also means the bonus can be converted into a fixed bonus, as shown in Unit Conversion Formulas. For every +1% StealthSight, Perception is increased by +50 (5000 * 0.01).
Additionally, the StealthSight bonus is displayed as part of the Stealth Detection Rating shown on a Starship's statistic page. In this case, the combined StealthSight bonus is multiplied by 10000, and is added to the current Steath Detection Rating. For every +1% StealthSight, the Stealth Detection Rating is increased by +100 (10000 * 0.01).

- Emergency Power to Auxiliary: +3/+4/+5 km Perception radius (+150/+200/+250 Perception)
- Attack Pattern Lambda: +250/+500/+750 Perception for 5 seconds to self, -250/-350/-450 Perception to foes hit for 5 seconds.
- Intelligence Team: +250/+300/+350 Perception for 10 seconds.
Console Abilities[]
- Tachyon Detection Field: +3.75% StealthSight (+187.5 Perception) to self for 30 seconds
- Tachyon Detection Grid: +15% StealthSight (+750 Perception) AoE, +3.75% StealthSight (+187.5 Perception) to self for 30 seconds
- Launch Subspace Rupture: -99.9% Perception to all foes within 3km of target location for 10 seconds
- Sensor Burnout: -9.99% StealthSight (-499.5 Perception) for 3 seconds
- Vent Theta Radiation: -4720 Perception
- Antimatter Spread: -4850 Perception to foes within 5km range for 9 seconds

- Romulan Advanced Prototype Deflector Dish +2.5% StealthSight (+125 Perception)
- Singularity Jump -96.2/-97.8/-98.4/-98.8/-99 Perception to foes within 2.2km of the anomaly for 20 seconds
Duty Officers[]
- Conn Officer (Perception variant): 5%/10%/15% chance to boost perception by 100 for 10 sec when activating Tactical Team
- Entertainer (Perception variant): 1% chance: reduce target's Perception distance to 20% of current for 6 seconds
- Maintenance Engineer (Battery variant): Auxiliary Battery: Increases Perception by 10 for 20 sec

- Eyes of the Swarm: +50 Perception per hangar pet, up to 5 max (+250 Perception)
