- Cut Song: The Inlaid Library stage originally had a completely different song called "Crazy Escape" that for some reason (it was supposed to be fair use) would trigger the DMCA system on Youtube and Twitch, necessitating adding a streamer mode that swapped it out for "Reincarnated Echoes", before removing it entirely and making Reincarnated Echoes the main song. The B-side version of the library theme added in 1.0, "Libro Inferno", and the Astral Stair default song "You Only Happen Once" added in version 1.5.101 recycles the main melody of Crazy Escape as a tribute to the removed song, but you can't hear the original version anywhere anymore.
- Follow the Leader: Vampire Survivors' success has spawned numerous inspired games, typically having the same gameplay loop and the "Survivors" in the title, getting to a point where some people propose calling them "Horde Survival" or "Bullet Heaven" games. 20 Minutes Till Dawn is commonly cited as one of the better "clones." If you're into VTubers, specifically hololive, there's HoloCure - which has attracted notice outside the fandom as well, due to being considered another one of the best Survivors-likes out there. Bounty of One is also one of the most notable "clones" thanks to its 4-player Co-Op Multiplayer feature. Diablo Immortal has Survivor's Bane as a recurring limited-time event. Raiden Nova is a spinoff of the Raiden series featuring gameplay quite similar to this title.
- Inspiration for the Work: Vampire Survivors was inspired by slot machines. The game's creator formerly worked in the gambling industry, and decided to make a game that used all of the psychological manipulation tactics that make gambling so exciting, minus the risk of crippling addiction and financial ruin.
- Promoted Fanboy: After repeatedly gushing about the game on the Podquisition, James Stephanie Sterling was hired to write for the in-game Bestiary.
- What Could Have Been: Prior to patch 7.230, the Inlaid Library featured a boss enemy at the 20 minute mark known as Count; a green demonic humanoid that resembled Olrox's second form and was the closest thing to a vampire the player could encounter. After 7.230, Count was completely removed from the game when the Hag was added in as the 25 minute boss, with Nesufritto (the former 25 minute boss) moving to replace Count as the 20 minute boss instead.
