Naa Ashorkor (born 24 November 1988),[1][2] also known as Nisirine Naa Ashorkor Mensah-Doku, is a Ghanaian actress and media personality who currently works at Media General Limited, which houses TV3 Ghana and others.[3] Before joining the Media General Limited, she formerly worked with Asaase Radio, an Accra-based radio station. [4][5] She is known for starring in The Perfect Picture (2009) and Iroko TV's Poisoned Bait.

In 2010, she won Best Actress at the Africa Movie Academy Awards for her role played in The Perfect Picture.[6][7] Naa Ashorkor also starred alongside Yvonne Okoro, Joselyn Dumas, John Dumelo.

Career

Ashorkor, along with Chris Attoh, hosted the 2016 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards.[8] She also hosted the Miss Malaika Ghana pageant for eight years.[9] Askorkor started off as a presenter with Starr 103.5 FM where she hosted a midmorning show dubbed The Zone.[10]

In 2008, she was featured in her first movie by Shirley Frimpong-Manso.[citation needed]

She was a presenter with the Multimedia Group from 2017 till 2020, where she hosted Showbiz A-Z and Strong and Sassy.[11][10] She moved to Asaase Radio at the end of June 2020 and currently hosts the shows Between Hours and Just Us.[12] In March 2021, she was the host for the 3Music Awards.[13]

She is a business woman who runs two ventures: Jaarno, a digital food market, and April Communications, which handles theatre productions.[14]

Ashorkor is a brand ambassador for Unilever Ghana[15] as well as Verna Mineral Water.[16] She also advocates DKT International Ghana, where she serves as the Lydia Contraceptives Brand Ambassador.[citation needed]

Ashorkor had been involved in several popular television commercials, notably for Tigo Ghana's Drop That Yam and the Yensor Nkoaa commercials.[citation needed]

On Saturday, 1 June 2024, she co-hosted the 25th Telecel Ghana Music Awards with Chris Attoh.[17]

Personal life

Naa Ashorkor married her longtime partner Ahuma Cabutey Adodoadji in 2014.[18] On 15 August 2017, she announced the birth of her son via news outlets and social media.[19] She announced the birth of her second child, also a son, on 1 July 2019.[20]
