Suggestions for Extra Information

[edit]

These are questions readers may wish this article answered; perhaps others could debate their worthiness for inclusion, and possibly find some good material to briefly couch on their answers?

  • What is the status of "Cities of Refuge" today? (If I turned up at Hebron today and... - i.e. the if not and why not).
  • Summary of laws relating to these cities, such as the width of roads leading to them??
  • Examples (from history? Scriptural?) where the special status of these cities came into play?
  • Should there be some mention of/link to the idea of "kinsman redeemer"/Goel in this article?

I came to this article to find answers to these kinds of questions, not just to read summaries of biblical text. When did this tradition of revenge by clansmen die out, etc, should be explored. Deliusfan (talk) 14:06, 30 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

NPOV

[edit]

The discussion of the cities presumes that Documentary Hypothesis is correct. This is by no means agreed on; archaeologists reject the fundamental principles of DH (see reviews in ASOR's Journal by archaeologists like William Dever)and former scholars of DH like Rendtorff and van Seters are rejecting it, according to Whybray's Making of the Pentateuch. Rewrite this section minus the DH terminology. 108.18.136.147 (talk) 14:10, 14 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
