Is the lance inspired in or actually the Holy Lance relic from Vienna? The Holy Lance is part of the imperial regalia, and maybe Titian wanted to depict Charles actually or symbolically carrying it to battle. --Error (talk) 15:17, 31 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
