An earlier Clacton apparently served in the Mediterranean in WWI[1]Drutt (talk) 21:56, 27 March 2008 (UTC)
- A screw sweeper named Clacton is mentioned in Janes as being on the list of 'British Vessels Lost at Sea 1914 - 1918', but she is not on the navy lists, nor does she appear in Colledge. She was most probably never commissioned and was one of the many ships temporarily used by the government. Benea (talk) 22:43, 27 March 2008 (UTC)
