Article Introduction

I thought it needed only a couple extra sentences on the end, so I added them. Here's what I think it should be:

Hannah Montana is an American Emmy Award-nominated[1] children's television series, which debuted on March 23, 2006 on Disney Channel. The series focuses on Miley Stewart (played by Miley Cyrus), who lives a double life as an average teenage girl at school during the day, and a famous pop singer (Hannah Montana) at night, concealing her identity from the public, other than her close friends and family. The comedic show has included several “Disney stars” such as Corbin Blue, Ashley Tisdale, and John D’Aquino. Most of the episode names are based of famous songs. This TV series has led to two albums of songs from the show, several DVDs, two concert tours, with one of them being turned a 3d movie, and “Hannah Montana: The Movie.” So far, Hannah Montana, and associated events/items have been extremely successful. -- dr.scholl201 (talk) 01:49, 29 January 2008 (UTC)

Looks good but drop last sentence unless it can be backed up with a reference. Also drop the scare quotes around Disney stars. --NrDg 01:56, 29 January 2008 (UTC)

Here's a re-edit:

Probably shouldn't mention Hannah Montana: The Movie yet in the lede. Made some suggested edits. Rest looks good to me. --NrDg 18:18, 29 January 2008 (UTC)
I don't really think this is getting us far at all. Two full months of no discussion...and the intro is still less than 5 lines long. I'm going to add some serious, cited material. --haha169 (talk) 00:47, 31 March 2008 (UTC)
Wow...this job is difficult. I'm not too familiar with the subject, and I can't find sufficient material within the article. Can I suggest something? The second paragraph should be a short on how production began. The third one should be its current critical reception and popularity, and the last one should be about outside stuff, like apparel etc. That would be a good start. --haha169 (talk) 00:55, 31 March 2008 (UTC)

Drop the Corbin Bleu, Ashley Tisdale etc, etc part because they are mentioned in special guests already, so it shouldn't be necessary.Tiffc (talk) 03:53, 19 January 2009 (UTC)

Hannah Montana is really Miley Cyrus but Miley stills play as Hannah in Hannah Montana and she stills sings for Hannah. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.82.9.12 (talk) 18:15, 6 July 2009 (UTC)

Fair use rationale for Image:Hannah Montana Logo.PNG

Image:Hannah Montana Logo.PNG is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Missing character, possible vandilism

I just checked the bottom of the page and the "Rico" article was gone. Was this vandilism?

I think that somebody didn't think that "Rico" existed, so they deleted it. If that person was a user, Wikipedia should have banned him or her if they knew how much people would notice after the "Rico page" got deleted. It may have also been anger because they just hated "Rico", so him or her deleted the page.Tiffc (talk) 03:52, 19 January 2009 (UTC)

I think someone did this because at the top of the page it says edit this page so they could have erased "Rico" (Twilight578 (talk) 17:20, 13 April 2009 (UTC)) ~edward and bella~

International Release

Hannah Montana is now broadcasted in the Netherlands too. This will mean an extra row in the country list. Hannah Montana is being broadcasted on the Channel Jetix since the 17th of May, 2008 This fact is also given on the dutch wikipedia site of Hannah Montana —Preceding unsigned comment added by 84.104.224.31 (talk) 20:48, 25 May 2008 (UTC)

It is now broadcasted in Hungary also on Jetix since the 30th of May, 2008. However, in Hungary it debuted on Viasat 3 in fall 2007, but months later it has been discontinued, and the show is on Jetix now. The Hungarian Jetix website is the source for it. Isn't the No. of Seasons is 3?

Awhile ago when I checked this article it said that there are 3 sesons in total. Today it only says 2. Why did someone revert it back? I mean just because the 3rd season has not aired yet, that doesn't mean that there only 2 as of yet.. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Blueknightex (talkcontribs) 02:51, 7 June 2008 (UTC)

Season 3 is planned but no episodes have been created. Any info about S3 other than that it is planned is speculation and does not belong in the article. --NrDg 02:58, 7 June 2008 (UTC)

Creation of a character page for Rico

The page, Rico (Hannah Montana), is being redirected to Hannah Montana based on the conclusion of an AfD discussion Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Rico (Hannah Montana) last December. A discussion about resurrecting the page has been started at Talk:Rico (Hannah Montana). I personally have no objection to the page being created again mostly due to the inconsistency of how we are treating the individual character pages of this show. If we are going to have a page on Roxy (Hannah Montana), a secondary character, it is difficult to justify not having a page on a main cast character, for example, even though, by current wiki notability rules, none of the character pages are strictly justified. --NrDg 15:44, 13 June 2008 (UTC)

Hannah Montana in pop culture is tortured

The first thing it says on the Pop Culture spoofs thingy is:

The show itself references the show. In the episode "(We're So Sorry) Uncle Earl", Jackson changes the channel from Are You Dumber Than a Dog? to a show where we hear "The Best of Both Worlds", complaining "Oh, when is this show not on?!"

Maybe it was a documentry show of Hannah Montana that's not mentioned in the series. Another option is a like a music video show that rarely show good videos. So, if someone could delete that... —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.168.63.66 (talk) 20:44, 30 June 2008 (UTC)

You can't possibly fight removal with something like that. The entire pop culture section needs prose in my opinion...I'm adding a template. --haha169 (talk) 00:51, 8 July 2008 (UTC)

Character articles need cleaning up

Lists of alter-egos, relationships, and secret-keepers do not encyclopedic articles make. The desired type of character page is something that talks about how the character was made, its role in the show, and what people thought of it. The existence of Aang as a good article indicates that this isn't impossible. Sceptre (talk) 14:24, 14 July 2008 (UTC)

Aang is good article? Nice... In my opinion, the only article which has a chance of actually surviving an AfD is Miley Cyrus. I question the existence of Jake Ryan, and especially Roxy. --haha169 (talk) 05:24, 17 July 2008 (UTC)

I do think that Jake Ryan exists (I watched an episode that said at the end that Jake Ryan (Cody Linley) appeared in the episode). I heard about Roxy in a book, but I've never seen her in an episode (I watched eight times on Saturday), so I don't really think she exists, I second haha169.Tiffc (talk) 03:49, 19 January 2009 (UTC)

Character list per AfD

An AfD, Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Jake Ryan (Hannah Montana), resulted in consensus to rather have a character list than single articles. As I don't know the show I rely on interested editors to create one and merge content where fit. Thanks --Tikiwont (talk) 09:46, 5 September 2008 (UTC)

Interested editors may please take care of above merge. Alternatively I'd simply redirect the characters to List of Hannah Montana characters that is supposed to be a list of all characters. For a start I am adding a section for main characters.--Tikiwont (talk) 08:41, 15 September 2008 (UTC)

As my call to perform the merge went unanswered, I've redirect them here. The edit history is still available to merge content. --Tikiwont (talk) 08:41, 15 September 2008 (UTC)

Well, it's official....

Hannah Montana WILL have a 4th season. I was reading the 4/11 edition of the Chicago Sun-Times and I read this in the article about Miley Cyrus:

Disney is not quite ready to let go. "We'll be shooting the fourth season of 'Hannah Montana' in 2010", says Rich Ross, President of Disney Channels Worldwide.

— by Chicago Sun-Times reporter Marco R. Della Cava

In fact, here's a link to the article from the Sun-Times website: [2]

So, there ya go. Proof that Hannah Montana will have a fourth season.

Hannah montana 4th season.

It has not completely been confirmed to be a 4th season by miley states I would like to do a 4th season. Please delete the parody section.it is desgusting to put that garbage on the Hannah montana page.and people should not make fun of wholesome shows.--Sweetheart2009 (talk) 22:06, 27 April 2009 (UTC)sweetheart2009

Not a Musical

Under show format, "Musical" was listed after sitcom. In a musical, songs are interwoven into the script in a narrative style. In the series, it is clear that Hannah's songs are songs, not dialogue or narrative. I therefore removed it, but feel free to discuss and, if needed, replace. Well, if somebody tried to say in the main article that Hannah Montana was responsible, that wouldn't be acceptable. But unless Hannah Montana actually had to officially, publicly respond, I'd say that the incident really doesn't have anything to do with her. To mention it would give the culprits recognition -- something they probably would really would like. Regards, Piano non troppo (talk) 09:37, 25 May 2009 (UTC)

Season 4 to be the end reference

The reference number 14 which cites that the fourth season will be the last season of the show seems to me to come from an unreliable source and should be disregarded. I may be wrong because I have never heard of this site but when I went to the site it did not seem like a reliable source to me. I think that the reference should be deleated and the mention of the fourth season as being the final season until it has been cited from a more relaible source. I am not going to delete it at this time but I thought it should be brought up. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.114.179.127 (talk) 01:29, 30 June 2009 (UTC)

Actually, I never heard anyone say this would be the last one. The repeated source says that "Miley wants an official ending to Hannah Montana". These people are snakes, don't trust them. Where did you hear that? Fighting for Justice (talk) 01:55, 26 January 2010 (UTC)

I think someone said Miley wants to move on. Maybe it's just ending (like Home Improvement did after over 200 episodes), not being cancelled. I also heard about 2 possible spinoffs, one being Miley & the gang going to college & her still being Hannah. They also said in that spinoff, Oliver & Jackson may be roommates. Another one may be Miley's sister Noah playing Miley Stewart when she was a little girl.

No the finale is coming out Friday Nov 5th 2010 in Canada on Family Channel and there is no proof of any spinoffs. The finale is revealed to be that Miley rips off her wig during a concert due to her boyfriend trying to break up with her unless she gets rid of Hannah and getting into college. Trailers have been shown on Family showing Lilly's reaction to Hannah's choice and Hannah talking to the Dean of Stanford. Also, it shows Hannah about to rip off her wig but stops showing right when its supposed to rip off. --CBeveridge 07:00 pm November 2 2010 —Preceding unsigned comment added by 207.81.69.189 (talk) 02:01, 3 November 2010 (UTC)

According to Disney, it's not the finale and isn't being advertised as such. Disney has said there will be 101 episodes in total, although we're not sure how Disney is calculating that number (See discussion below) and that the season will end in spring 2011. Going by the sources we have in the episode list, there are at least two more episodes plus the finale, although an end date of spring 2011 means there may be more, possible another four. --AussieLegend (talk) 03:02, 3 November 2010 (UTC)

Number of episodes

I told Alec2011 that including "101" in the "|num_episodes=" field of the infobox was going to be problematic,[5] But I never thought it would be for the reasons that it is now. I still think inclusion of the information is problematic, but some of the reasons for removing it are quite silly. The source is a website easily verifiable as being owned and operated by Disney, so claiming that it's unverified,[6][7] not reliable enough,[8] or even that it could be faked,[9] make no sense. The final reason, that the infobox typically only shows aired episodes,[10] is only partially correct. The "|num_episodes=" field is actually for the number of episodes produced. The instructions for the field in {{Infobox television}} state that the content should be "the number of episodes produced (a reliable source is required if greater than the number aired)." --AussieLegend (talk) 00:35, 22 July 2010 (UTC)

How about the facts that 85 + 12 = 97, and the number of episodes can be counted differently? 117Avenue (talk) 00:47, 22 July 2010 (UTC)
How about information released by Disney itself AFTER a website that said there was 12 epiosdes total? - Alec2011 (talk) 01:02, 22 July 2010 (UTC)
So how many episodes does Disney say are in season 4? 117Avenue (talk) 01:22, 22 July 2010 (UTC)
As was discussed on my talk page, it may be that Disney has increased the number of episodes in season 4, but then again it may be that Disney is treating some of the episodes that we've counted as one as being two separate episodes. Disney may even be counting "No Sugar, Sugar" as an episode contributing to the total when we don't. The problem is that we don't know, which is why having the total of 101 is problematic, even though it's from a reliable source. --AussieLegend (talk) 02:45, 22 July 2010 (UTC)

I'd also like to add that saying the document is a reliable source however it's problematic because it's not an exactly from Disney.com, however everyone on here seems to agree that they'd rather believe a website that said "11 episodes and a one-hour series finale" that doesn't quote Disney or the website isn't from Disney.com itself. - Alec2011 (talk) 19:34, 24 July 2010 (UTC)

The main picture is extremely explicit and although I personally don't care about Hannah Montana, this picture should be removed immediately. Wikipedia is not /b/. Thank you. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 173.61.190.249 (talk) 22:52, 25 October 2012 (UTC)

Edit request on 24 January 2013 - Another release on Portugal

Can you add another release on Portugal in the international release section? It should be like this:
|rowspan="2"| Portugal Portugal |Disney Channel Portugal |2006 |- |TVI |February 24, 2008 [2]

  1. ^ http://oceanup.com/2009/06/mitchel-musso-hannah-montana-season-4-recurring-role-status.html
  2. ^ "Hannah Montana - ESTREIA ESTE DOMINGO (24.02.08)!!" (in Portuguese). Sawwy. 19 February 2008. {{cite web}}: Unknown parameter |deadurl= ignored (|url-status= suggested) (help)

I can assure you that the source I put in the reference is really true and reliable. 89.152.87.26 (talk) 16:06, 24 January 2013 (UTC)

Not done: please provide reliable sources that support the change you want to be made. Those don't look reliable; those look more like fan blogs. I need official sources. Vacation9 23:30, 26 January 2013 (UTC)

Not done: please make your request in a "change X to Y" format. --Stfg (talk) 15:11, 15 October 2013 (UTC)
But actually, I think you can edit it yourself. You have more than 10 edits, so you should be autoconfirmed already. --Stfg (talk) 15:13, 15 October 2013 (UTC)

Semi-protected edit request on 6 February 2014

In the Series Synopsis->Storylines section, paragraph 2:

"Rico, who had begins high school after skipping several grades, nearly discovers Miley's secret on several occasions."

Should have the word "had" omitted and become:

"Rico, who begins high school after skipping several grades, nearly discovers Miley's secret on several occasions."

Because otherwise the sentence is grammatically incorrect.

Done - Good job noticing that. --AussieLegend () 05:49, 7 February 2014 (UTC)
