First Spidey Trade?

[edit]

Was this the first Spider-Man story to be published in a collected edition? 38.111.35.2 (talk) 16:08, 9 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Date of release

[edit]

The date of release is wrong. It came out the summer of 1987 right after the release of ASM annual with the wedding to Mary Jane. Think about it, it was an event, those usually happen in the summer. 2603:8080:4602:9A4B:B40B:C2F1:B8B1:D79B (talk) 15:03, 1 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Contradiction

[edit]

Marvel's plans to marry Spider-Man and Mary Jane Watson prompted DeMatteis to make their marriage the emotional focus of the story. and it had to be quickly rewritten to acknowledge the recent marriage of Peter Parker and Mary Jane Watson can't both be true -- ChrisTheDude (talk) 08:05, 19 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Reviewing the sources for both claims, the first comes directly from J. M. DeMatteis, while the second is from a bulletin board post by Dan Slott. Given that Slott didn't start his career in comics until years after Kraven's Last Hunt was published, I don't see how he could have firsthand knowledge of its writing. Moreover, the tone of his post is noticeably argumentative (he opens the section in which he makes the claim with "That's a very flowery, over-the-top retelling of what actually happened."), and in my experience people arguing on message boards have a tendency to stretch the truth. I'm going to remove Slott's claim. NukeofEarl (talk) 01:00, 13 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
