why is there [edit] filds by the months now? It adds lines when copy the information thet was not there before.

@Rusted AutoParts: It doesn't really matter how long they will be red and I'm not sure where this mentality that red links are to be rejected is coming from. The fact is, many of the red links have drafts (you probably created a lot of them). The red links are to encourage editors to create the article. Look if it makes you feel better, if half of the red links are not blue by the end of January, I will go through and create the pages/move drafts myself. Add genre to table?

[edit]

I'm thinking that genre would be nice to have next to the title in order to get a better overview/understanding. Would allow for quicker browsing when looking for inspiration and also better memorability when looking back on past years later. Patricafdw (talk) 12:10, 25 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Pleeeeese noooo. We have enough time with edit wars on individual articles now involving genres. Readers can click the link to go to the article to learn even more about the film. Mike Allen 15:51, 25 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Music

[edit]

I would like to see music composer(s) listed here. I tried to add it, and my changes were immediately undone with no discussion. Millions of people follow film music, and it is a major element films. MatBane (talk) 22:12, 27 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Worldwide gross

[edit]

Can we add another table that ranks the films by worldwide gross? 2600:8800:296:1300:C958:4C06:16A7:B786 (talk) 20:35, 22 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Major accessibility and sorting problems

[edit]

The table in this article contains major accessibility and sorting problems. The "Opening" column is inaccessible and does not sort correctly. I recommend that the dates be fixed using {{Date table sorting}}, as was done at List of Tulu films of 2023. – Jonesey95 (talk) 14:09, 18 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Jonesey95:, could you give a suggestion of what it could look like on the talk page? I just want to make sure I know what you mean before I go ahead either way on what you are suggesting. Andrzejbanas (talk) 22:33, 18 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Sure. Here's a selection from the January–March table. Notice that the Opening column is now sortable and accessible to screen readers. – Jonesey95 (talk) 01:14, 19 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks @Jonesey95:. Definitely far more readable. I'm curious if we should maybe cut down on the director / cast part? I think it would be useful to recognize the film, but if this is a list based on countries based on production, the cast and crew might be a bit excessive information per WP:WEIGHT. My heart isn't really set on this, but its not exactly "sortable" via the sort tables command and is also a bit chunky in its details. We say crew, but just list the director, writer. Perhaps just limit to a director in its own field and keep cast seperate (and unsortable?) Either that or maybe we should scrap it. Thoughts? Andrzejbanas (talk) 13:53, 19 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I have no opinion about the content; I am here only to address the accessibility and sorting problems. Maybe you could start a separate discussion about the content of the columns. – Jonesey95 (talk) 16:34, 19 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Fair point. I'd say for accessibility this is superior for all the reasons you have stated. I would lose the sort command on cast and crew as there is no logical thing we're sorting through on it though. We should probably also sort titles through film titles like The Bricklayer & The Painter so they can be alphabetized as B and P respectively. Andrzejbanas (talk) 16:39, 19 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
