The fourth-rate was no frigate - it was classified as a ship-of-the-line

The fourth-rate was no frigate. It was classified as a ship-of-the-line. Since the end of the 18th century they weren't used in the battle line because considered as too weak, but nevertheless they hadn't been classified as frigates instead. Blinder Seher 20:05, 8 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Sloop-of-war

There is no need to mention gun-brig and cutter, because they only had been two of a variety of vessels classified as sloops. Therefore it is clearer and sufficient to mention only the sloop-of-war below the rated vessels. Blinder Seher 20:11, 8 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
