Be careful with your edit-warring

MacKay likes the picture that is currently on his article. I can understand why people like you you want to make him look bad, but take you hatred for him elsewhere than Wikipedia! Be careful about your anti-Mackay edits. They are not welcome on Wikipedia. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.48.78.19 (talk) 11:53, 9 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Wow, 70.48.78.19, that seems like a pretty aggressive attitude. It almost seems as if you are threatening User:Tholden28. I'm going to look within the rules to see if that is grounds for WP:BLOCK. Bkissin (talk) 22:34, 23 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry/Thanks

[edit]

Hey User:Tholden28. I wanted to apologize for asking you to find another source about Cotler's announcement he wouldn't run again. I had not heard this new development, and the last I had heard, he was intending to run again, at least that's what was assumed in the uproar over the polling calls in his riding. Perhaps I may have let my own personal politics cause a knee-jerk reaction to the edit, and for that, I'm sorry.

Thanks for finding a more up-to-date article, though. Bkissin (talk) 22:43, 23 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Sources

[edit]

Why are you removing sources from the provincial riding articles? EncyclopediaUpdaticus (talk) 15:27, 16 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Just because other article don't have them is no reason to remove them from these articles. I consider it an improvement. All riding articles should be so comprehensive. EncyclopediaUpdaticus (talk) 15:33, 16 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I don't mind the formatting changes, but please leave the notes in place. They place changes in members in historical context. EncyclopediaUpdaticus (talk) 15:49, 16 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. Quebec election

[edit]

I know the Liberals won the election, but since Couillard hasn't become premier yet, is it fair to say he got 'elected' on the article right now? I'm not going to take it down, but I was just wondering... -- Kndimov (talk) 02:16, 8 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Just a reminder to wait until the media have declared somebody elected. Manon Massé has an extremely narrow lead right now, but with two boxes still out — and guess what those boxes are? the advance vote — it's not at all safe for us to assume she's going to win yet. We don't make our own predictions by looking at who's in the lead at some indeterminate point in time; we wait until an external source has declared them the victor. Just a quick note - it isn't the PQ's worst seat showing since 1976. The PQ got just 23 seats in 1985, and 29 seats in 1989. But it is indeed the second-worst vote showing since 1970. Redverton (talk) 16:49, 8 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Invitation to discuss opinion polling matter

[edit]

Hi Tholden28,

As a fellow regular contributor to opinion polls sections on various Canadian election pages, would you care to weigh in on this debate over whether to show "all voters" or "likely voters" results for polls in the ongoing Ontario election? Cheers. -Undermedia (talk) 17:30, 14 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Tholden28. Rather than revert, I'm just wondering what the justification is for adding the Green Party of Manitoba to the infobox for 41st Manitoba general election, being that it wasn't done for past elections. Initially, I wondered if they were doing particularly well in the polls, but it seems there's only one to go on, hence why I'm curious. Thanks, Graham11 (talk) 03:50, 20 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, completely missed the fact that it was in the infobox already. But thanks for the informative response! Graham11 (talk) 19:08, 21 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

The article Saturday Night Live (season 40) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

It is a little premature to have an article for a season that has not started. Maybe when it is sooner then it can be created, but right now there seems to be no notable information. On WP:TVEP, it states "A topic is presumed to be notable if it has received significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject," which this has not.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Arnold Chan

[edit]

Regarding your recent dispute about the "assumed office" date on Arnold Chan, I just wanted to confirm that your understanding is correct — we do indeed use the date of the election or byelection itself, since that's the date that Parliament's website gives. But I just wanted to let you know that if you ever get involved in a similar dispute again, you don't need to rely on the purely anecdotal evidence of what we did for John Dahmer — there's actually an explicit consensus statement, already written at Wikipedia:CANSTYLE#Terms in office, which completely backs you up on it. Hope that helps a bit. Bearcat (talk) 20:59, 4 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Future Canadian Ridings

[edit]

Hi. It looks like you created a number of articles for the future Canadian ridings (including University—Rosedale). I wonder as to why you would use "—" vs. "-" (em-dash vs. regular dash) in the name of the new ridings? I recognize the fact that Elections Canada report seems to be using em-dashes as well. But I feel it is somehow a violation of WP:TSC or general English rules for em-dash. What do you think? --Truther2012 (talk) 21:04, 10 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I just wonder the colour representing Forces et Démocratie

[edit]

On the twenty-third of October, Mr. Fortin spoke the first time as the leader of Forces et Démocratie around 10:45am about the happened attack in Ottawa. That's also the first time the colour of his renewed "MP box" (you know, every time a MP speak, there's a box showing his/her name, the riding he/she represent also the party he/she belongs) revealed and it sort of green. I just wonder should the colour representing Forces et Démocratie change from blue to green? Merci—An Macanese 09:53, 26 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry for a late reply however I think there is a more specific proof what is the colour Forces et Démocratie chose. See the official seating plan of the house of commons of Canada. I personally believe that the colour representing Forces et Démocratie should be green (is it MediumSeaGreen #3CB371 ?) since it was adopted by the hoc. Merci—An Macanese 15:07, 31 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks of your speedy reply. Well, I'm kind of puzzled if you say so. The colour of a party's logo may vary (I mean the accurate HEX) and how about those independent members? I think we should follow the hoc because the parliament have to get the approval from the party to use certain colour and it is the best way to know what one's party have decided their official colour beside informing the party directly.Merci—An Macanese 17:51, 31 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]
BTW on the official page, the CPC uses #002395, NDP uses #FF5800, LPC uses #ED2E38, BQ uses #0088CE, GP uses #427730, Forces et Démocratie uses #01AF58 while those independent MPs get #606860.

Glenn Thibeault

[edit]

Regarding your edits about Thibeault being an independent when he resigned. I too saw it on his Parliament bio, but without it appearing on the Parliament standings, and third party coverage, it could just be a website glitch or error. Information icon Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you tried to give a page a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into another page with a different name. This is known as a "cut-and-paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is legally required for attribution. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page (the tab may be hidden in a dropdown menu for you). This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Requests for history merge. 42nd By-elections Re: Mauril

Hey Tholden28!

Thanks for your edit on By-elections to the 42nd Canadian Parliament. I definitely understand your logic in removing the hidden section about Ottawa-Vanier, but I wanted to discuss it nevertheless. With M. Belanger's ALS further progressing, if he hasn't given the indication he will resign, I assumed he would end up dying in office and that we should be prepared for that eventuality.

I know that is morbid and slightly disrespectful, but it would have us prepared for this situation. Your thoughts? Bkissin (talk) 18:49, 7 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Alberta election

[edit]

Seeing this dispute over the Alberta election infobox, I started up a discussion on the talk page about it. Am messaging other editors involved so we can hopefully avoid an edit war! 88.215.17.228 (talk) 16:17, 17 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Looney Tunes Golden Collection

[edit]

Dear Tholben,

You know those remaining 386 Looney Tunes Cartoons which don’t have volumes in the Golden Collection?

I was wondering if you could create some brand new volumes for the Collection so every cartoon would be featured.

Does that sound like a plan? Evelynkwapong539 (talk) 14:20, 13 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

"Next Bloc Québécois leadership election" listed at Redirects for discussion

[edit]

An editor has asked for a discussion to address the redirect Next Bloc Québécois leadership election. Since you had some involvement with the Next Bloc Québécois leadership election redirect, you might want to participate in the redirect discussion if you wish to do so. Elections

[edit]

In FPTP elections where the leader is not the incumbent for the seat he is running, in, consensus is to add "Ran in". Do not remove it. GhostOfDanGurney (talk) 18:53, 22 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Quebec lieutenant, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page David Lewis (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 07:46, 23 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

2019 Canadian federal election map

[edit]

The map you added under the infobox for the 2019 Canadian federal election has been replaced bu a worse map that is inconsistent with all previous elections. There is voting in the talk page regarding which map should be used. Please vote and make your voice heard on this matter. Spaceshuttlediscovery (talk) 16:36, 26 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello. Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia.

When editing Wikipedia, there is a field labeled "Edit summary" below the main edit box. It looks like this:

Edit summary (Briefly describe your changes)

I noticed your recent edit to 2020 Green Party of Canada leadership election does not have an edit summary. Please be sure to provide a summary of every edit you make, even if you write only the briefest of summaries. The summaries are very helpful to people browsing an article's history.

Edit summary content is visible in:

Please use the edit summary to explain your reasoning for the edit, or a summary of what the edit changes. You can give yourself a reminder to add an edit summary by setting Preferences → Editing → Tick Prompt me when entering a blank edit summary. Thanks! She Hulk Marvel Phase Four

[edit]

I noticed you recently added Maslany's denial. It was reverted. I recently added it as well and it was reverted. I don't know how many other times this has happened. However, there is a discussion about this on the talk page and oddly enough I am the only one who has advocated for her denial to be included. Even after three of us agreed on his this could be included it was reverted again. The other editors are adamant about keeping it off. They have an understandable argument. If you like, you can participate on the talk page. Thank you. Samurai Kung fu Cowboy (talk) 02:26, 28 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

2022 Quebec general election wording in the PQ infobox section

I'm pretty sure the extra wording you removed around PSPP's riding was supposed to indicate that like with Duhaime, PSPP had no seat before the election. — Ceso femmuin mbolgaig mbung, mellohi! (投稿) 01:49, 5 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Cut-and-paste move

[edit]

Information icon Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you tried to give Minister of Intergovernmental Affairs a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into another page with a different name. This is known as a "cut-and-paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is legally required for attribution. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases for registered users, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page (the tab may be hidden in a dropdown menu for you). Thank you. * Pppery * it has begun... 14:36, 27 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
