Unreferenced BLPs
[edit]Hello Vistor! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 11 of the articles that you created are tagged as Unreferenced Biographies of Living Persons. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to ensure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. If you were to bring these articles up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 297 article backlog. Once the articles are adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the list:

Viking coaching staff.
[edit]Hi there. In your recent edits, I believe you've got some details wrong: Åge Hareide is the manager, and Josep Clotet Ruiz is the coach of Viking FK, just like Ole Gunnar Solskjær is the manager and Mark Dempsey is the coach of Molde FK. Or have you some read some news that I didn't? Mentoz86 (talk) 22:36, 9 February 2012 (UTC)
- According to this Her er den nye Viking-treneren the edits are right. In the Scandinavian countries the football clubs distinguish between the general manger (buying and selling players) and the head coach (in charge during games) --Vistor (talk) 22:52, 9 February 2012 (UTC)
- In that article it says that Clotet is the new coach (trener), while Hareide changes job from head coach (hovedtrener) to manager. I haven't heard the term "general manager" used in Norwegian football clubs, but I know that the head coaches in Norway is normally in charge of transfers, matches and trainings. Viking and Molde have adopted the English manager-system, with a coach is in charge of the trainings and the manager is in charge of transfers and matches. Mentoz86 (talk) 23:12, 9 February 2012 (UTC)
- Doh - it actually says "hovedtrener" in your link, but if you read these two articles from Aftenbladet and VG, you might find out what I mean. Mentoz86 (talk) 23:19, 9 February 2012 (UTC)
- I understand what you mean, but I still think that it is unclear who is in charge during championship games. In the article from Aftenbladet it says that Clotet Ruiz was "hovedtrener" at Halmstad, where he was in charge at the games. It all depends on what they mean by "Hareide blir manager og får det overordnede ansvaret for både det sportslige og spillerlogistikken". --Vistor (talk) 23:27, 9 February 2012 (UTC)
- "Spillerlogistikken" means selling and buying players, while "det sportslige" in this context, means in charge of the team in matches aswell as the trainings even though "Pep" will lead the trainings. Here it says that "Pep" will be leading the trainings, while Hareide will "ha kontrollen på det sportslige apparatet og den sportslige satsingen, akkurat som før. " In this interview, "Pep" explains how it would be to work as a manager/coach "it's more like the english style". I thought this would be easier to explain to a Dane, then to a English-speaking person, but I guess not :P I guess I should add a reference or two in the morning, so that there will be no more misunderstandings. Mentoz86 (talk) 01:18, 10 February 2012 (UTC)
- Here:"Etter alt å dømme få Ruiz ansvaret for treningsarbeidet, mens Åge Hareide fortsatt skal ta seg av laguttak og spillerkjøp." Mentoz86 (talk) 01:20, 10 February 2012 (UTC)
- It seems that your are right :) That is a very unusual structure for a Scandinavian football club. --Vistor (talk) 12:22, 10 February 2012 (UTC)
- Yeah, it's not very common. Vålerenga Fotball tried this structure when Martin Andresen was appointent "manager" in 2008. They found out that itdidn't work, and Andresen is now "head coach". Solskjær, who came directly from England, was appointed manager in 2011, and now Hareide and Viking. I believe those are the only three "managers" in Norway. Hello from Portugal,
I apologize for any inconvenience, but I did not remove anything (or anything without explanation) in this manager's article. It was already written he had returned to Betis immediately after leaving WBA, so your sentence was doubled.
Now, I think a compromise has been reached, and both references (the one I already had and the one you added) can be kept in article. Happy editing/2015 --84.90.219.128 (talk) 13:41, 16 January 2015 (UTC)
