Ilyushka88 (talk · contribs) - I have been trying to do my best for wikipedia, and have tried to prevent vandalism every time i see it somewhere. I think that promoting me to an administrator would give me more chances preventing "Wikipedia terrorism". I do really enjoy editing wikipedia, and i know how things work. I have studied the using of Admin Tools, and i know the basics of how they work. Ilyushka88 17:03, 27 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Questions for the candidate
[edit]Dear candidate, thank you for offering to serve Wikipedia as an administrator. It is recommended that you answer these optional questions to provide guidance for participants:
- 1. What admin work do you intend to take part in?
- A: I would help wikipedia to prevent vandalism as good as i can. Main reason to be blocking vandals and blatant sockpuppets myself.
- 2. What are your best contributions to Wikipedia, and why?
- A: Mainly preventing vandalism (i spend all my time exploring "Recent changes"-page). Created article Järvenpää. It's not a big article, but it took me a lot of time to gather all the information for the article.
- I have got very much of experience doing graphics for some companys. I think i could use it for Wikipedia as well.
- Using admin tools would give me a huge boost on speed of preventing vandalism.
- A: Mainly preventing vandalism (i spend all my time exploring "Recent changes"-page). Created article Järvenpää. It's not a big article, but it took me a lot of time to gather all the information for the article.
- 3. Have you been in any conflicts over editing in the past or have other users caused you stress? How have you dealt with it and how will you deal with it in the future?
- A: No i haven't been in any conflicts in English Wikipedia. When i catch some user doing vandalism, i usually warn him/her in his User Talk-page. None of users have been unpolite for me. If i would have problems with a Wikipedian, i strongly believe, that kindness and politness would go a long way.
- However, a long time ago in finnish Wikipedia, i had couple of conflicts, but they were solved in few minutes. Thanks for that both sides of the conflict were doing their best to stop it.
- 4. Additional notes?
- A: As i am myself half Finnish/Russian, i intend to keep articles regarding those two countries very up-to-date. (As i know very much about both countries (doesn't mean I don't update other articles)).
I am sorry. I'm not so good at giving reasons to questions like "what would you do if...."

Discussion
[edit]- Comment - Though this may be irrelevant, when I opposed said user he had very little written down in the response to the questions. Now, I believe, he has copied and pasted G-Unit Boss' bullet pointed answers for Q1. Just thought I'd make note of it seeing as I believe the user has/had little to no idea of what an admin duties entail. ScarianTalk 19:52, 27 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
- Hello! As i wrote on my application, i am bad at answering to questions like "what would you do if...". I did learn some things from G-Unit Boss' application, but i fully understand what i copied from there. I am ready to do what i stated there. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Ilyushka88 (talk • contribs) 20:13, 27 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
- Sure that's fair enough. Don't forget to use the edit summary! ScarianTalk 20:32, 27 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Support
[edit]- Moral Support I think you need to withdraw this request for adminship to gain some more experience before trying agiain. You should read Wikipedia's policies and guidelines and more specifically, learn exactly what an administrator does. In the meantime, keep up the good work reverting vandalism.--Phoenix (Talk) 17:28, 27 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
- No evidence to suggest that this user will abuse the tools. Acalamari 18:29, 27 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
- Moral Support What I've seen of you has been excellent. But this is far too early. You'll probably make a great admin someday -- but not yet. Gscshoyru 21:53, 27 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Oppose
[edit]- Oppose - replies to questions are worrying. And, specifically, you can fight vandalism without being an admin. I think you need to maybe expand your horizons, gain more experience (Read WP:ADMIN to find out what else admins do) and then come back and try again. ScarianTalk 17:20, 27 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
- Oppose, Moral Support I'm sorry, but you don't have quite enough experience yet. Keep it up, though! GlassCobra 17:52, 27 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
- Oppose Lack of vandalism fighting, and overall lack of experirence. I also don't find it funny the comment on your page that says for Russian women to contact you. PatPolitics rule! 18:09, 27 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
- I don't think that was intended to be a joke. GlassCobra 18:15, 27 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
- I understand. Than why doesen't he say Russians? PatPolitics rule! 18:17, 27 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
- You mean like why doesn't he ask for all Russians to contact him? Probably because he's only interested in women. :P GlassCobra 18:20, 27 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
- It was intended to be a joke, but actually i wrote it when i joined wikipedia... Really bad joke. Sorry for that (removed). Ilyushka88 18:36, 27 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

- Oppose Sorry, but you have very little experience, so I can't gauge your suitability. Please get some more experience and try again in a few months. east.718 at 19:23, 10/27/2007
- Oppose I am sorry, but you need a bit more experience on Wikipedia before becoming and admin. Icestorm815 20:34, 27 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
- Oppose Does not seem experienced enough. Compare yourself to the other users running for admin and you will see what I mean. Possible future admin, though, just not now. — jacĸrм (talk) 20:37, 27 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
- Can i ask you people: What is count as a "enough experience"? Ilyushka88 20:54, 27 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
- It's not necessarily about number of edits, although that can majorly contribute to one's opinion on a user becoming an admin. You have about 280 edits, 71 of which have been made to your user and talk page, making only 3/4 of your edits to mainspace, and to say you are a rather new user, this is not what people would expect to see from a want-to-be admin. Other than that, you have not made any edits to WP:AIV or WP:AFD or anything similar. Please tell me, how have you "studied the using of Admin Tools, and know the basics of how they work"? — jacĸrм (talk) 21:01, 27 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
- You have also copied part of your nomination from another user's nomination to be admin. You haven't even edited these pages, so how do you understand them fully? — jacĸrм (talk) 21:04, 27 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
- I mean that i understand what WP:AFD, CAT:CSD, WP:RPP and WP:XFD means Ilyushka88 21:10, 27 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
- Can i ask you people: What is count as a "enough experience"? Ilyushka88 20:54, 27 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
7. Oppose There is a lack of experience and simple speeling mistakes (such as 'i' instead of 'I'). Jhfireboy Talk 21:52, 27 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
- Yes that clearly tells that i can't be a good administrator if i spell "I" as "i" :). Maybe i just shall leave Wikipedia, because i cant speak perfect english? Ilyushka88 22:00, 27 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
- Comment: That could be just a bad habit, Jhfireboy. We don't mind about your "speeling" mistakes though, do we? Keep it about the editor's contributions/edits/experience, don't be shallow. ScarianTalk 22:22, 27 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
8. Oppose With less than 300 total edits, I would have to say that you are not ready to be an admin yet. Just knowing what AfD and RFPP mean doesn't mean you are knowledgeable enough to become an admin. Wait a few months, perhaps comment at an AfD or two, report vandals to AIV, and then come back here.
