English An American photographer comes to Egypt with his models to shoot a fashion collection among the pyramids. When they stumble upon a newly discovered and opened tomb, their excitement knows no bounds – the photos among the mummies will come as a shock to New York! Those who opened it are not so excited, however, as they are after the golden treasure that should be hidden in the depths of the tomb. But the photographer and the models are only interested in taking pictures. I kind of felt like I was watching the Otis family ignoring the presence of a ghost in the tomb (The Canterville Ghost). Otherwise, the mummies are basically like zombies and reminded me not only of George Romero's classic, but especially Lucio Fulci's Zombie. They also feed on flesh, brains and guts. The only difference is that the initially crawling mummies get rocket propulsion towards the end and that eliminating them seems almost impossible. Too bad it's only the last half hour that's really nourishing, for which I give it a fourth star. The massacre at the wedding, with its awesome main course, is brilliant. Plus great music. Probably mostly for genre fans today. If it weren't for the tedious first half, I would rate it higher. ()
