englanti Of the Marvel paper heroines, Kamala is my favourite, so I was looking forward to the series, but a little scared at the same time. She does, in fact, have a much more important role in the Ms. Marvel books than just saving the world. This character has done so much for (not only) the Muslim community by introducing, especially in America, an ordinary teenager with unexpected superpowers dealing with family and adolescence, as well as with with prejudices against her origins. The Kamala of the book proved that you can successfully deal with everything at once, and so does the one in the series. Excellent in the first three episodes, a little less so in the second half, but still enjoyable and without any cringe. I'm almost sorry that she was given a series to start and not a movie, because, especially with the amazing Iman Vellani, she could easily be on par with Tom Holland's Spider-Man. ()

englanti You can tell that Ms. Marvel is a relatively new character in the Marvel Universe. Marvel here is hitting both its hyper-correctness and a bit of greed. They’re clearly targeting the Pakistani and Indian markets by creating a superhero tailored to that audience. From a filmmaking perspective, there’s not much to criticize. The acting is solid too. But the "millennial troubles," as the title of the first episode puts it, felt completely off to me. At times, it felt like I was watching a modern version of S Club 7. ()
