Last update: 05 January 2024

This page of the Assassin's Creed Valhalla game guide contains a list of all the Zealots associated with the Order of the Ancients. You'll learn where to find individual zealots, how powerful they are, and how to prepare to fight them.

Advice and background information

You can identify Zealots by finding them while exploring the game world - Assassins Creed Valhalla: Zealots | Order of the Ancients - Order of the Ancients - Assassins Creed Valhalla Guide and Walkthrough

You can identify Zealots by finding them while exploring the game world. After you get close enough to a zealot (each is constantly traveling), an icon will appear on the map. This is not all. You need to get close enough to this elite opponent to be able to identify them (refer to the picture). Only then the information about the zealot will be added to the tab of the Order of the Ancients.

Unfortunately, you may have problems with finding many of the zealots – their icons appear on the map only when you are a few hundred meters from them. Try to travel along the main roads in a region where a particular zealot is supposed to be. This will increase your chances of encountering the person you are looking for. We also advise you to react to everything you come across. Even if you don't plan to attack a zealot right away, once identified, their icon will stay on the world map.

Each zealot has his own level of power and does not have to coincide with the level of the region he is in - Assassins Creed Valhalla: Zealots | Order of the Ancients - Order of the Ancients - Assassins Creed Valhalla Guide and Walkthrough

Each zealot has his own level of power and does not have to coincide with the level of the region he is in. Since these enemies have many strong and unique attacks, we advise against trying to kill zealots above your level of power, as you not be able to win. Stay away from the fanatics marked in red, i.e. those whose power level is more than 30 points higher than that of the main character.

Prepare properly for each duel with a zealot - have full HP, take as much food as possible, charge up the adrenaline, and stock up on arrows (they will be useful for aiming at weak points on the opponents). Additionally, just before the start of the duel, it's worth to save the game.

The course of fights with individual zealots is similar, although each of them may surprise you with some unique attacks, skills or aids (e.g. a tame animal). Above all, be prepared for the fact that zealots are able to fight effectively both in close quarters and at distance.

Watch out for the frequent red attacks of the zealots and the various traps that many of them can set up - the traps can injure Eivor, or set her on fire or get her stunned. It's best to stay away from the traps and allow the mini-boss to follow Eivor.

Try to attack zealots in remote locations - Assassins Creed Valhalla: Zealots | Order of the Ancients - Order of the Ancients - Assassins Creed Valhalla Guide and Walkthrough

Try to attack zealots in remote locations. Otherwise, ordinary opponents from the area may join the fight, which can make all the mission that much harder. Remember – there's no rush: zealots can be defeated at any point of the game; they don't disappear. Track the zealot until you find a good place to attack.

Try not to move too far away from the zealot during fights, because their HP may reset. This will mean you have to begin the fight from square one.

Every defeated zealot must be killed to "confirm" the assassination and obtaining the medallion. Don't forget about this, and don't move away from the beaten mini-boss prematurely. You will receive 1800XP for killing a zealot.

How to find the zealots easier?

There is a "trick" that allows you to significantly simplify the process of finding the zealots - Assassins Creed Valhalla: Zealots | Order of the Ancients - Order of the Ancients - Assassins Creed Valhalla Guide and Walkthrough

There is a "trick" that allows you to significantly simplify the process of finding the zealots. Unfortunately, this method increases the game's difficulty.

During the storyline of the Ledecestrescire region, you will have to fight a boss, Leofrith – this happens in the Heavy is the Head main quest. After winning the fight, you will have to make a choice - kill or spare Leofrith.

Eivor can be hunted by the zealots from all over Anglia - Assassins Creed Valhalla: Zealots | Order of the Ancients - Order of the Ancients - Assassins Creed Valhalla Guide and Walkthrough

Eivor can be hunted by the zealots from all over Anglia. This will happen if:

  1. You kill Leofrith.
  2. You spare Leofrith and ignore the newly unlocked Hunted side quest. The goal of that mission is to cancel the order of hunting Eivor. If you manage to reach the chapel in Venonis in time and burn the vellum with the kill order, the zealots won't start hunting you.

Letting the zealots start hunting Eivor may unfortunately have additional negative consequences. You must be aware of the fact that one of the zealots can find Eivor at the wrong time, e.g. when you're doing a quest or when the hero is heavily weakened. Fortunately, fighting zealots is never mandatory. If you don't want to fight or you feel that this particular enemy will be too challenging for Eivor, you can just escape. The golden icon will remain visible on the map forever – it will make it easier for you to return to the fight later.
