Amethyst in Dave the Diver is used in crafting. It is also a quest item in the Sea People Language Translator quest. In our guide, we explain where to find the Pickaxe necessary for obtaining amethyst, as well as where to look for Amethyst Ore deposits in the depths.
How to obtain a pickaxe?
- You need a pickaxe to obtain amethyst. You can start finding it as loot from your first visit to the Blue Hole Depths during the Going Deeper main quest.
- The pickaxe might be in one of the underwater chests. It is treated as a melee weapon, so you have to exchange it for a knife or another currently owned weapon. Ignore the minor damage dealt by the pickaxe (only 3 points), because it also has a different use described below.
Using a pickaxe on Amethyst Ore deposits
- After obtaining a pickaxe, look for purple deposits - the example is shown in a picture. They occur at depths below 100 meters. The simplest thing is to stay in Blue Hole Depths and explore this part of the deep sea more thoroughly.
- After locating the deposits, you can swim up to them and press the left mouse button. Dave will start using the pickaxe to break amethyst.
To complete the Sea People Language Translator main quest, you need only 1 piece of Amethyst Ore. However, it's worth collecting more of them, because amethyst is also needed to upgrade some weapons in the Weapon Shop app.
