Additional control settings
The most important settings can be found in the Controls tab:
- Control Customization - You can customize the buttons and keys to your preferences.
- Control Presets - The remake controls are set as default. You can set your own, or choose settings that are faithful to the controls from the original Dead Space from 2008 or from Dead Space 2.
- Stick Sensitivity - The default value is 0.
- Buttons Sensitivity - For the L2/R2 buttons and the left/right triggers. The default value is 0.
- Stick Dead Zone - Default value is 13. You can decrease it for better precision or increase it so that the movement is performed only after tilting the left stick almost all the way.
- Buttons Dead Zone - For the L2/R2 buttons and the left/right triggers. The default value is 0.
- Vibration Strength - Default value is 100. You can reduce it partially or set it to 0 to disable the vibration.
- Camera Speed - The speed for the X axis and the Y axis are adjusted separately. Default values are 50.
- Inverted Camera - You can optionally enable this for the Y axis, i.e. to look around with the right analog stick.
Several important control settings can be found in the Gameplay tab:
- QTE: Single Press Quick Time Events - It allows you to complete QTE with one press of a button (e.g. instead of pressing it rhythmically).
- Sprint Toggle Mode - You can change how sprint works in the game (press the left analog stick).
- Aim Toggle Mode - You can change how aiming works in the game (L2/left trigger).
- Automatic Weapon Swapping - This option is disabled by default.
- Aim Assistance - Aim Assist is turned off by default. After enabling this option, you can further adjust it, e.g. the strength with which the crosshair will be pulled to enemies. This can make it easier for you to make precise shots to Necromorphs' limbs.
