Top releases of August. Games of August 2024
Table of Contents
Of course, these aren't the only August premieres worth paying attention to. Below you will find a few games that our editorial team plans to play. For instance, I will spend my free time on a farm in Fields of Mistria, as well as in Sword of Convallaria, because I miss Final Fantasy: Tactics. Besides, the latter part of August is when I stay up all night playing MMORPG! And what do others plan to check out?
I Am Your Beast
Thanks to gems like El Paso, Elsewhere, Space Warlord Organ Trading Simulator, or Life Eater, Strange Scaffold studio has quickly grown into one of the most interesting active indie devs. In mid-August, this team will release I Am Your Beast, which promises to be another success in the developers' portfolio.
This is a first-person action game focused on fast-paced fights. To put it simply, it can be described as Hotline Miami in the FPS version. So, we will jump into a series of small maps that we will need to clear of enemies quickly, primarily using the weapons we have taken from them. The demo available on Steam is one of the best I've played this year.
Once we become skilled, we will transform into genuine monsters, gleefully slaughtering enemies in ever more creative ways. The plot also promises to be interesting, as we will embody a former murderer working for the government, who deals with agents sent by his employer. After just a few minutes, it becomes obvious that he is a psychopath, and the agency bosses chasing him are also not entirely sane.

SteamWorld Heist II
The SteamWorld series has been experimenting with (very) different game genres from the very beginning, and despite this, I liked all of its installments. The first SteamWorld Heist, in addition to being an enjoyable tactical turn-based game, featured a rather unique mechanic of bullets ricocheting, which incentivized planning each shot and finding good positions in the environment for further rebounds. The second installment, released in August, partly looks like a fairly safe sequel, although I like the much more interesting way of traveling around the game world. I will play either at the premiere or shortly after it, as I am confident about the gameplay and performance.

We also remind you that all August premieres can be found in our calendar. It's impossible to describe every game worth attention, so take a look at them to not miss any gems. Don't forget to also share your discoveries in the comments! There will certainly be people who will benefit from your propositions.
