Most Wanted Video Games of 2022. Editors' Choice
The countdown to 2022's biggest releases can begin – especially since potential blockbusters are just around the corner – coming in February! So here's an editorial ranking of the most anticipated games in 2022.
Table of Contents
The pile of shame from 2021 in December is probably a bit smaller than before, but many of us are slowly rubbing our hands and getting ready for next year's premieres. The passing period was generally neither outstanding nor disappointing. However, there was probably no title that would shake the industry and immediately become a timeless hit. Such hopes seem warranted for some of the games that are about to launch in 2022.
The last year was generally a time of delays, whether due to a pandemic or other troubles. So we should see a few long-awaited latecomers in the coming 2022, as well as even more sought-after continuations of the iconic brands. We also keep our fingers crossed so that developers can finally start using the capabilities of next-gen consoles and engines, presenting graphics worthy of a new generation. In some cases, of course, the release date of a given game is not yet 100% confirmed and there may be some shifts. Here is an editorial list of the fifteen most anticipated titles of 2022. And yes – the order does matter this time!

15. The Invincible – Lem finally coming to video games
- Release date: 2022
- Genre: First-person adventure
- Developer: Starward Industries
- Platforms: Windows PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S
What will The Invincible be about?
Yasna, an astronaut on an interstellar research mission, suddenly wakes up on the planet Regis III. She has no idea what happened, she remembers nothing, and her companions have disappeared without a trace. Exploring a new area brings nothing but bad news. The planet is inhabited by some strange, aggressive entities, and in addition there are agents hostile to the members of the mission. How to find yourself in such a situation?
Why are we waiting?
The very fact that The Invincible is to be the adaptation of the novel The Invincible by Stanislaw Lem makes it an extremely intriguing game that simply needs to be tried. For example to satisfy curiosity about how the creators dealt with the source material. Did they include the essence of the book in their work? The nonlinearity of the plot also raises high hopes. This is supposed to be an adventure game focused on environmental puzzles and arcade sequences – so do not expect space shootings here, but rather a cool atmosphere and a large dose of retro-futuristic vibe.
