Valve has announced that it will not alter the average score for Assassin's Creed: Unity on Steam. Making the title available for free on Uplay and Ubisoft's donation to rebuild the Notre-Dame Cathedral contributed to flooding the site with positive reviews, of which most also praised the game itself.

The Hollywood Reporter informs that last week over 3 million free copies of Assassin's Creed Unity were downloaded worldwide. The production was made available as part of the promotion launched after the fire of the Notre Dame Cathedral.

Making the PC version of Assassin's Creed: Unity available for free turned out to be a great move. User reviews on Steam have turned positive and the game has regained popularity to such an extent that it was necessary to increase server performance.

During the next week, everybody can download the PC version of Assassin's Creed: Unity for free. The title was made available on Uplay as a part of the action to support the fundraising campaign to rebuild the Notre-Dame Cathedral in Paris after Monday's fire.
