Location
This cauldron can be found in the mountains, in the eastern part of Cinnabar Sands. You will reach it without any problem, you just have to follow the path near that area shown in the screenshot above.
Walkthrough
The entrance to the cauldron has to been opened with a spear. It glows red so it definitely won't escape your attention. Approach this spot and you will be presented with the option to open the gate. On the PS, click R2 to get inside.
Right after going inside, you will find yourself in the first part of the cauldron. Your task is to climb up and run through tunnels made of infected cables. You will climb to the top by grabbing the glowing elements. Sometimes they retract, but all you have to do is hit the white glowing spot on the floor for them to reappear.
After climbing up, run into the tunnel of cables. At the very end of it, there will be one sparkling cable. Jump on it. Be extremely cautious here. Your task will be to jump to the next two cables. It's not difficult, all you need is the right timing. Let go of the cable once another cable is under Aloy.
While moving forward, you will see another red item that you must override. This will create a bridge that will take you to the next part of the location. There is no other way to get to the other side.
When you come out of the next tunnel, turn right. The next part of the cauldron is ahead of you. There's not much to do for you. Jump over to the item on the ledge. That way, Aloy will pull herself up and jump onto the platform.
There's another gate that you must open with a spear and another element you have to use to climb up. The colors are so loud that you won't miss them for sure.
There will be another red item to override. This time, it will not activate any bridges, but will nullify the shield that is blocking your path forward. To get to this element, you can use machines moving in the air or use the Shieldwing.
You will get to the next part of the cauldron. This section is much bigger. For the most part though, the journey will be straightforward and obvious. Your job is just to move around using the side edges and climbing the glowing points.
At some point, however, you will reach mechanical arms. Don't rush here. Try to move slowly, only when another part of the machine appears in front of Aloy. Otherwise, you might fall down straight into the abyss.
Again, you will have to override another red item to get to the next part.
After going through the door, immediately look for another red item. Overriding it will create a bridge that you need to get through.
Time for another climbing sequence. It should not pose any problem. However, you must keep an eye out for any glowing elements as you climb the mountain - they will retract every now and then. Just time it properly so that it doesn't turn out that you have nothing to grab hold of.
You have to reach the next part by hooking yourself to the machine. You will not be able to jump to it nor fly to it using the Shieldwing.
You'll stumble upon mechanical arms again, which you will have to use to proceed. As previously, take your time. Be mindful of your movements and keep an eye on Aloy's positioning. It might be tough at the very end because if you choose a wrong moment, Aloy will simply jump down into the abyss. You need to position yourself as in the screenshot above so that you stick to a single element. Then wait until the platform moves below your feet and let go so that you fall right on top of it.
To get to the next part, you must use flying machines again. Aloy will catch on to them without any problem and certainly won't let go unless you click a button. Falling at this point will result in instant death.
You're almost done now. Here's the last door to be opened with a spear. You will end up in a large room, which will be quiet at first. The best thing to do at this point is to pick up all the resources in the area so that you have tools to develop your character and weapons.
Once you have examined the entire area and are ready for battle, all you have to do is override the last red section. This will summon enemies.
At first, Widemaw will appear in the room by itself. After a while, however, it will be joined by a companion of the same species. It is a good idea to use weapons inflicting the Frost effects; this will quickly drain enemies' health points and make things easier for you.
Ultimately, you only need to override the core to complete this location. As a reward, you will receive 8000 XP and 3 skill points. You don't have to be afraid of the exit route. Overriding the core will make this element go up and bring you closer to the exit.
