The CD Projekt Group published its financial results for the first quarter of 2024. The company started it with a bang, the main achievement of which is the sale of Cyberpunk 2077 and the Phantom Liberty expansion.
- Consolidated revenues amounted to 227 million PLN (about $58 million). The net profit amounted to 100 million PLN (about $25 million), which is 44% higher than in the corresponding period of the previous year.
- Cyberpunk 2077 and the Phantom Liberty expansion account for over half of the revenue, totaling 146 million PLN (about $37 million). The entire Witcher series generated 28 million PLN (about $7 million) during this time. The rest of the revenue comes from the sale of materials and goods intended for further resale.
Cyberpunk 2077 has enjoyed success in recent months.
Piotr Nielubowicz, Chief Financial Officer at the CD Projekt Group, mentioned the recent successes of the game, including winning the BAFTA award for the "Evolving Game" category and, more significantly, receiving over 95% positive reviews on Steam in the past 30 days. This was achieved for the first time since the game's premiere in December 2020.
Focus on projects
In the first period of 2024, CD Projekt focused on further development of already started projects. Currently, the number of games the company is working on has decreased to 4. As of April 30, all the people working on Cyberpunk 2077 in February have been reassigned to other tasks.
- Project Polaris, the forthcoming game from the new Witcher trilogy, has the highest priority. According to previous assumptions, more than 400 people are working on it, and the transition to the development phase is planned for the second half of the year.
- The sequel to Cyberpunk 2077, Project Orion, has the second highest number of employees assigned to it. In April, the game team grew to 56 members, up from 47 in February 2024.
- Meanwhile, 39 and 20 people work on the Sirius and Hadar projects, respectively.
