To improve longevity of a production, sometimes all that it takes is a good mod support to let fans add variety and new challenges themselves. My Summer Car is not a new game by any means, yet even after almost 8 years it is still appreciated by a community of faithful players, who enrich its content by adding interesting modifications. There is one elusive modification, however, which many would like to use – BMW E30. Here you will learn how to download and install it, but also a word of warning.
How to download BMW E30 mod for MSC
Modifications are something that allow players to prolong fun with a game they already explored to the fullest. Like in case of My Summer Car, they can add more options to play around with. There is an interesting story of BMW E30 mod, which comes and goes, so let’s see how to download and install it.
Before we get to the download link itself, some things require clarification:
- The only available E30 mod seems to be a meshslap – a low-effort, subpar quality modification that often has a chance of breaking a game.
- It's crucial to scan all files with antivirus software before installation.
- This car mod will overwrite Satsuma in the game.
Please bear in mind that we do not own the files, nor we take any liability for the mod to work. It is advised to make a backup of files that you intend to change, as altering them can lead to breaking the game potentially rendering it unusable. You are doing it at your own risk!
Being aware of all the potential dangers, if you still want to proceed, you can download the BMW E30 modification files from the NexusMods site. There, however, you will be led to sharemods site where all the necessary files reside. The zip file should contain “BMW E30” and “Save” folders.
Installing BMW E30 modification in MSC
With the file downloaded (and hopefully scanned by antivirus software), you can proceed to installation, which actually requires you to replace several files. Follow the steps below to make sure that the car was imported successfully.
- After extracting the archive file, copy its contents (“Images” and “mysummercar_Data” directories) to game’s main folder. You can easily get there by right clicking My Summer Car label in Steam Library, selecting “Manage” option, and choosing “Browse local files”. If asked, proceed with replacing existing files.
- Next, go to AppData’s “LocalLow” folder. You can easily do it by pressing “Windows” + “R” keys on your keyboard and typing “%appdata%” (without quotation marks), but you will need to go up one level to “AppData” directory and select “LocalLow” folder.
- Then, navigate through “Amistech”, and in “My Summer Car” folder, remove all the contents. This will delete all your current progress in the title!
- Once there are no files in “My Summer Car” directory, move the two files named “default ES2File” and “items” from “Save” folder of your downloaded modification.
This should allow you to enjoy BMW E30 in this interesting, Finnish production. If you need a hand, we have a helpful guide that will aid you with the restoration of your favourite car. Have fun!
