The Witcher 3 REDkit Is Finally Available. CD Projekt Red Asks Players for Help
CD Projekt Red Studio started testing modding tools for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. Meanwhile, a beta version of the Steam Workshop has been made available.
Last year, CD Projekt Red surprisingly announced that it was working on modding tools for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. Although we will have to wait a while for the release of the full version of the REDkit editor, its closed tests have already started today, and anyone can sign up for them.
The Witcher 3 REDkit
According to the announcement, REDkit is a tool that enables nearly limitless freedom for modding. With its help, players will be able to develop new game elements and edit existing ones. It's based on the same tools that developers used during the game creation.
The tests started today and will last until April 30th. To sign up for them, you need to go to the REDkit page on Steam and ask for access. The tool won't immediately appear in your library as it will appear in waves.
REDkit is scheduled to be released later this year. It will be available for free for every game owner.
The Witcher 3 - Steam Workshop
In addition to modding tools, CD Projekt Red has also released a beta version of the Steam Workshop for The Witcher 3. To sign up, you must join this group. Next, through the library, you need to go to the game properties, select the "beta" tab and the "workshop_test" option. Then the game will automatically update itself.
This is really great news for fans of Geralt's adventures. Until now, because of the absence of advanced tools, there have been few modifications to The Witcher 3, and the majority of them didn't bring significant changes. It appears that there will be significant changes in this matter soon.
