Nathan C. Meeker, an agriculture writer for Horace Greeley at the New York Tribune, founded the Greeley Tribune in 1870. Its first issue was published on Nov. 16, 1870.

The Tribune was a weekly paper from 1870 to 1908, when it became a daily. In 1913, the Tribune purchased two other dailies in Greeley. The Tribune reduced publication to four days per week in 2019. A digital version of the paper can be found at enewspaper.greeleytribune.com.

Anything of special interest about the newspaper?
The founder, Nathan Meeker, was also the founder of the city of Greeley. It was known as Union Colony then. We’ve been publishing for more than 150 years.
