We've been waiting ages for Xbox Cloud Gaming to expand to games that aren't part of the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate library, and it sounds like the time has almost arrived - Xbox employees are literally testing the feature right now.
This is according to The Verge's Tom Warren, who has revealed 10 games that are being tested internally:
- DREDGE
- Dying Light 2
- Hades
- High On Life
- Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy
- Metro Exodus
- PGA Tour 2K23 (Xbox One edition)
- The Crew Motorfest (Xbox One edition)
- The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt
- The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Complete Edition
The plan, apparently, is for members of the Xbox Insider program to gain access to this feature at some point in November (so yes, this month!), before it eventually rolls out to the public in the future. Apparently, the goal is to support thousands of titles through Xbox Cloud Gaming, but we don't know how many will be available at the beginning.
Another question is whether you'll still need to be subscribed to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate in order to access these titles via the cloud, and we're assuming the answer to that is yes. Hopefully we'll get some clarification very soon.
How excited are you for this feature? Let us know down in the comments section below.

This feature could truly be a game changer!
@Tatoun
Agreed! I’m already a huge xCloud fan and this would really make my Amazon Fire tv 4K stick a great Xbox in the cloud.
This feels like a good one for the future, as xCloud has not been consistently stable for enough people yet.
But, that's MS gaming, forward thinking almost to a fault!
Full access to back catalogue.
Release handheld.
Drop consoles completely.
Obviously up the cost of Game Pass.
End game complete.
I hope they expand the Cloud to more countries. I can't enjoy this feature, even when I'm paying for it as part of GPU.
Yeah sure why would they be Activision games at all can't think of a single reason 🤬🤮👹
High on life was on game pass. So that shouldn't need testing. Plus The Witcher 3 is there twice as all games on game pass have dlc available via cloud. So they are testing 8 games?
This is exciting. I am becoming a big cloud user.
Without buying an Xbox Portal? 😱
How will it work if you own the Disc version? For example. I own GotG on Disc, therefore I can't prove I have bought it and still own it to have a license to play it on Xbox... Is this just another disadvantage or the nail in the coffin for physical?
At least they are generally cheaper and can be sold after you've finished it, or sooner if not great...
However, all the games I own digitally all have a valid licence linked to my 'online' profile/account. That same account also has Game Pass Ultimate and Streaming .
That being said, I'm not likely to use 'streaming' - even if it maybe quicker than redownloading, moving etc I'd have to be quite desperate to play over cloud as I only game at home.
@Astig I'm guessing all of these were probably past Game Pass titles
@BAMozzy you said it all, it's only gonna work for digital purchases.
Speqking of cloud, I hope they won't do like AMD with GeForce Now and limit the playtime!
I truly wish they would partner with Nvidia Geforce Now completely. I pay for the top tier of that and it works so well. As far as lag goes... I just beat Black Myth Wukong with the setting all on ultra, the game looked awesome
