The Witcher 3 Co-Creator Promises That REDkit Editor Allows to Cross Many Boundaries. Even Dating Crones Is Now Possible
Pawel Sasko of the CD Projekt RED studio in an interesting way encouraged players to test modding tools for The Witcher 3.
New, significantly more powerful modding tools for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt are currently being tested on Steam. Pawel Sasko from CD Projekt RED decided to encourage players to take part in them. Players can now add romance options with Crones themselves, according to the developer.
This is, of course, a joke, and although we are not judging anyone's romantic preferences here, it well illustrates how much freedom these tools provide. The previous ones only allowed minor game modifications. Fans came up with their own solutions (resulting in, for instance, A Night to Remember), but they were challenging to use and ultimately restricted.
We can now modify almost all elements, including adding new storylines and adventures, as what players will receive is built on the official tools used by CD Projekt RED to develop The Witcher 3.
The first phase of testing new modding tools will end on April 30th. If you want to participate in the tests, you should go to the editor's page on Steam and ask for access. This is given in waves, so it may take some time before it appears in your library.
The full version of The Witcher 3 REDkit tools is set to be released later this year. For now, the devs aren't ready to give an exact date.
