- "Wade Wilson?"
"Oh, yeah, dancers. Dopinder must've ordered you." - âTVA Agent and Wade Wilson[src]
The Capture of Wade Wilson was a successful attempt by the Time Variance Authority to take Wade Wilson from his decaying timeline.
Background[]
- "We used to just prune these things, simple, elegant, efficient, but I'm told the TVA doesnât like to do that anymore."
- âMr. Paradox to Deadpool[src]
With the Temporal Loom being destroyed, Loki took it upon himself to maintain the Multiverse and allow it branches to grow free. In response, the Time Variance Authority chose to stop pruning the branches and leave only the Sacred Timeline to exist, but instead monitoring the Multiverse and the potential variants of He Who Remains. One of the universe, Earth-10005 started to deteriorate after Wolverine died in a battle while protecting X-23, as he was an anchor being of his world.
Mr. Paradox was assigned by the TVA to monitor the universe's death, although he was incredibly frustrated that he had to spend the next millenia doing that. He was convinced that pruning the branching timelines was much more efficient, but the current management of the TVA did not share his sentiment. Paradox then went rogue and secretly started working on the Time Ripper that would vastly accelerate the decaying of Earth-10005, killing everyone and everything there. However, the TVA monitored Wade Wilson, convinced that he had a specific, yet unclear purpose, and could play a significant role in the history of the Multiverse, so the decision was made to take him out of his universe.[1]
Capture[]
- "I brought you here, Mr. Wilson, to tell you that youâre special. In fact, youâve been chosen for a higher purpose, a purpose unclear even to me, but one that could save the entire Sacred Timeline from a possibly grisly fate sometime in the future, which may very well need to be avenged."
- âMr. Paradox to Wade Wilson[src]
A group of Minutemen were sent to Earth-10005 by the Mr. Paradox to take Wade Wilson under their custody and take him to the Sacred Timeline. They arrived to Wilson's apartment in New York City, knocking on the door and interrupting his birthday party. Wilson opened the door and asumed that Minutemen were the dancers that Dopinder ordered for him and made a number of crass remarks, even after Minutemen pulled out their Time Sticks. They grabbed Wilson's wig, tearing it away and forcibly dragged him into a Timedoor, bringing him to the Time Variance Authority Office.
Upon waking up and meeting Paradox, Wilson initially assumed that his capture had something to do with him using Cable's Time-Travel Device, but Paradox assured him that it was not the case. He explained to Wilson that he had been chosen to play an important role in the future of the Sacred Timeline, which Wilson was ecstatic about it. Receiving a new Deadpool Suit, he asked Paradox about bringing his friends over to the Sacred Timeline with him, but Paradox revealed that Deadpool would not be coming back. He explained that Deadpool's universe was dying due to Wolverine's death and his intention was to speed up the process with his Time Ripper. Deadpool refused to accept that and decided to find Wolverine to stop it, so he punched Paradox in the face and stole his TemPad to escape to his world.[1]
Aftermath[]
Arriving back to Earth-10005, Deadpool made his way to North Dakota, where Logan met his demise while protecting X-23. Deadpool proceeded to exhumate Logan's grave, expecting the fallen hero's regeneration to bring him back to life, but all he found was an adamantium skeleton. Soon after, Minutemen followed him there and ordered Deadpool to surrender. However, he used Logan's skeleton as a weapon to fight back against them. With all Minutemen dead, Deadpool used the TemPad he stole to travel across the Multiverse and find a Wolverine Variant to replace his Logan as the Anchor Being of his world.
However, the majority of the variants he encountered were either incredibly hostile or out of capacity, so Deadpool kept searching until he found a Wolverine drinking at a bar. Deadpool demanded he go with him to save his world, and even though Wolverine did not want to hear him out, he was too drunk to resist him and passed out. Deadpool then draged him to the Time Variance Authority Office and presented him to Mr. Paradox, but the TVA agent rejected that Wolverine, claiming he was the worst one in existence. Angry that his world was going to die, Deadpool demanded that Paradox let him take the matter to the Time Variance Authority superiors, but he then realized that Paradox was acting without their authorization. As he threatened to let them know everything about the Time Ripper, Paradox pruned both Deadpool and Wolverine, sending them to the Void.[1]
