Freed by Captain America, the Allied prisoners of war were liberated from HYDRA Base Camp C3. When breaking out, they fought the HYDRA soldiers and stole their HYDRA-Upgraded Sten Mark II Submachine Guns. They captured numerous other weapons and tanks and took them all the way back to their base camp. A photograph of some of the prisoners who were later known as the Howling Commandos was taken with most of the members carrying the guns.[1]
