Dig Site Massacre[]
- "Turns out going AWOL in a fugue state gets you discharged from the military. Didn't have a ton of options after that, so I went work-for-hire for my old CO Bushman. The job was to raid an Egyptian tomb. But Bushman changed the plan, called for no witnesses, and I couldn't live with that."
- âMarc Spector to Steven Grant[src]
Bushman served in the United States Marine Corps and was a commanding officer for Marc Spector, before becoming a mercenary. When Spector was discharged from going AWOL in a fugue state, Bushman offered Spector to join his mercenary crew. One of their missions was the raid on the dig site of the Khonshu's Temple, however, Bushman got greedy and changed the plan, calling for no witnesses.[2] Bushman executed all archeologists at the site, including Abdallah El-Faouly, and when Spector tried to stop him, Bushman shot him and left him to die in the desert.[3]
Personality[]
According to his former partner Marc Spector, he tends to be an incarnation of the classic mercenary stereotype, a greedy and unscrupulous individual who accepts any assignment as long as he receives a generous pay without caring about the ethics of his work or the type of person he hires, since he did not hesitate to kill the archaeologist Abdallah El-Faouly and even Spector for challenging him.

Trivia[]
- In the comics, Raoul Bushman is a mercenary who worked with Marc Spector and Jean-Paul Duchamp. When Bushman murdered Peter Alraune and started mass executions at Selima, Spector tried to stop him, but Bushman took him out and dumped him at the desert for Khonshu to find.
Behind the Scenes[]
- According to Moon Knight head writer Jeremy Slater, he and the other writers of decided to use Arthur Harrow as the show's villain instead of Raul Bushman due to Bushman feeling "too close" to Erik Killmonger.[4]
- Despite this, Bushman was the subject of several attempts by Slater to be included in the show. However, Slater ultimately felt that he had to introduce Steven Grant first and Marc Spector later so the audience would "fall in love" with them, whereas introducing Bushman before Spector, who serves as Grant's protector, would have been "too lethal" for Steven. Another possibility Slater considered was to have Bushman being the avatar of one of the Ennead, but the writers didn't feel to have "the real estate" to introduce Bushman.[1]
- According to Jeremy Slater, he doesn't know if Raul Bushman still has his face or not, due to having his face cut off in the comic books.[1]
