Anime: Manami & Nami Sprite

An interesting hentai that really comes too close to becoming ecchi to really matter at all. Sprite: Between Two Worlds ain't bad to say in the least.

Typical cutesy-wutsy hentai story; different type of characters!

Toru moves in with his aunt and cousin, Manami. Beautiful and shy, Manami immediately gets Toru's loving attention (and sexual as well.) It doesn't occur to him that his cousin has some strange personality problems...

Well at first the story starts out incredibly funny...and then it ends even funnier. :-) Though it loses credibility for the typical hentai weaknesses, Sprite manages to successfully entertain without too much sexuality in it's creative plot.

It's 4 episodes, but it didn't bore me at all, being that there is always some sex to gather any lost attention, coming in at just the right time, everytime.

The average shit: Animation, sounds...yawn.

Yea, the bummers generally lie in the music, but at least there was a little interesting background music. Also, the seiyuu are somewhat ordinary, except our dear male protagonist who makes a hilarious act with his perversion and excitement. Otherwise, everything else is a C grade.

Of course the animation happens to look really old-fashioned, and generally old-fashioned hentai doesn't have any voluptuous looking shoujos. On the contrary, the shoujos do look good - just that everything else looks really lame and the colors aren't very vivid like what I would think for in a comedy like this one. Tha animation is fairly smooth, so no complaints there, either.

And now the not-so-average stuff: Great characters and comedy!

Laughing my ass off watching our dear Toru-kun make a hentai-enemy of himself, it even amuses me more learning of Nami's development and certain experiences the characters all went through for each other. The cast is fairly small, but it has a good deal of minor characters and healthy development, much healthier than what I would have expected. This is probably the strongest thing about this anime in general.

I recommend it to any hentai regular, or to the comedy otaku who is looking for a good laugh with some sex in it. There is only ONE portion of a scene in this ENTIRE anime that can be classified as hentai, as everything else is just as ecchi as Futari H or Photon: The Idiot Adventures when it comes to people walking around naked or having sex. Definitely a few good laughs, and surely a title for any hentai otaku to see. :-)

This anime is very funny. It's a hentai, but, not as extreme as most. There is only 1 sex scene, however, there is a lot of nudity.

Basically Manami is a typical Japanese schoolgirl. Very shy (to the point of being painful), polite, etc. However, due to a few situations when she was younger, she developed an alternate personality called Nami. Nami is as confident and outgoing as Manami is shy and timid.

Both Manami and Nami are in love with her cousin, who's name I forget.

Basically the OAV is 4 episodes. The first episode revolves around the boy showing up in their area to go to school, and accidentally re-awakening Nami's personality. The next two revolve around some trouble that Manami and Nami get into at school thanks to a jealous classmate. (And we get to discover that Nami doesn't like wearing panties, which is bad considering this is Anime and the schoolgirl uniforms are entirely too short.) The fourth sorta resolves the conflict between the two personalities, and reveals just what caused young Manami's mind to split into two pieces when she was younger.

Like most, the OAV leaves off unfinished. The original Japanese manga goes for at least 11 Volumes, and this OAV does not even complete Volume 1, if I undstand it correctly.

All in all, it's a nice and funny romp making light fun of multiple personality disorder, and anime character stereotypes. It's not a deep anime by any means, but if you enjoy MC content in your fiction, it's excellent.
