I read sammy321's recommendation and thought I should add my opinion on it. I completely agree with his opinion and it really feels like generic contemporary fantasy with very old planes than a plane show.
That is to say the first half is more about them doing cutsy things, the later half is more melancholic, the thing that stayed consistent is the jet fighter escort keep simping on the girls. I'd say it is more drama than slice of life even in the first half, just see if that is your poison.

Warlords of Sigrdrifa had a good premise... humanity is on the verge of extinction due to an alien invasion, but a select few "Valkyries" are capable of combating this threat. Unfortunately, the direction this show went was about girls doing cutesy things, forming friendships and lots of feelings. Needless to say, this direction wasn't for me, but if you enjoy this type of genre, then this is for you.
