Popee the Performer deals with a circus that operates in the middle of the desert. Each episode deals with the small cast of characters attempting at times to rehearse their performances, but it usually dissolves into the characters trying to humorously destroy each other in the usual cartoon manner.

The star of the show, Popee, is a clown in an odd red-striped jumpsuit and bunny ears. He is adept at juggling, being a clown, pulling large knives and small bombs out of thin air. He is not adept at ever succeeding in his nefarious plans to hurt his poor assistant or the owner of the circus. His mischievous nature is the driving force of each episode.

Both are CGI series with short episodes. Both feature bizarre CGI and surreal humor, but while gdgd Fairies is more relaxing, Popee the Performer is more brutal. Both are underviewed because most people don´t pick it up because of the animation, but if you won´t get sidetracked by such a thing, you should try these two.

I'm pretty sure that before creating Usavich staff watched Popee. They are almost identical in terms of humor and even characters. Same goes for the style and overall impression of weirdness.

Would definitely recommend to anyone who has a darker sense of humor. Even two years after initially watching it, it's still one of my favorite things I've ever seen. NO REGRETS!
