Suezen, whose real name is Iida Fumio, is a Japanese illustrator, mangaka, game designer and animator. He studied under Miyamoto Sadao at Tatsunoko Anime Gijutsu Kenkyuusho.

Since working on Wings of Honneamise in 1987, he has been closely associated with Gainax.

Afterwards he changed his line of work and concentrated on manga and illustration work during the '90s.

In 1992 he was the character designer for NHK's Yadamon series, a contribution which was highly praised.

Suezen did also study abroad, where he worked for Disney, which influenced his art style.
