Shared DYK credit?
editThanks for nominating Madison Street Bridge for DYK. Would you consider adding me as a co-creater/expander to the nomination page, considering the extensive expansion I've made? Although Another Believer created the article (and is rightly credited for that) and did all of the setting up of the page's overall organization, for DYK it's not unusual to list more than one person as the creator/expander (as distinct from the nominator – you, in this case), when more than one person was a major contributor at the start. In case you were not aware of that, some examples where I was named in this way in the past (and I did not request it) include Trolleybuses in Philadelphia, Blauer Enzian, and Electro Scientific Industries (before DYK noms had templates), all cases where I was not technically the article's creator, and also was not its 5x expander nor the DYK nominator, but was a major contributor in the article's first days after creation. I agree that it's a pity the Madison Street Bridge disaster was not nominated for DYK when the 7-day window for that was open, but the QPQ review requirement discourages some editors from nominating articles, if they don't have time for the review and the follow-up communication. And just how much time it might take is unpredictable. I didn't have time for that at the time (and had no control over the timing, since it was not my article), and hoped someone else would nominate it – and I did a fair amount of MoS cleanup to it when it was new, with that in mind – but no one did. I appreciate your taking time to nominate the bridge article and do the QPQ review of another nomination. – SJ Morg (talk) 09:30, 23 August 2016 (UTC)
- Sure, I will add you as co-creator. Jsayre64 (talk) 01:56, 24 August 2016 (UTC)
