History[]

When the Federation starship USS Voyager was docked at a Markonian outpost on stardate 53049.2, in the year 2376, a Kinbori delegation visited the ship and presented Captain Kathryn Janeway with a four-tiered racket as a gift.

Around the same time, Voyager crewmembers Tom Paris, Harry Kim, and five others were involved in a bar brawl with thirteen Kinbori when a member of the opposing team attacked the Starfleet officers with a racket after the first serve. (VOY episode: "Survival Instinct")

Shortly after, the Voyager recounted the event in the mess hall during a mixer. B'Elanna Torres joked that Kim and the others had to defend themselves not only against the Kinbori, but against the whole furniture of the Morphinian café, too. (VOY - Distant Shores short story: "Brief Candle")
