The Llaihr class was a 25th century Romulan starship type, a tier 5-rated Tal Shiar destroyer adapted with Borg technology in the Romulan Star Empire's Tal Shiar service in the 2400s decade. (STO website: Legacy of Romulus: New Tal Shiar Lock Box and Lobi Ships)

This class was acquired by the Navy of the Romulan Republic and the Khitomer Alliance in the 2410s. (STO - From the Ashes mission: "Explore the Flotilla")

History and specifics[]

The Llaihr class adapted destroyer were a class of starships used by the Romulans by the early 25th century. They were constructed by the Tal Shiar following the collapse of the Romulan Star Empire when the twin homeworlds of Romulus and Remus were destroyed by the Hobus nova. These vessels were based on the Dhelan-class but were further enhanced with the use of adapted Borg technology which led to its somewhat distorted configuration compared to the parent design.

In exchange for further resilience and advanced technology, the Llaihr suffers from reduced speed and maneuverability. Among its weaponry included shrapnel torpedo that were fabricated through the use of replicator nanites. Another system was a modified Borg adapted warp core that provided hull regenerative properties and made use of a version of transwarp. These vessels were also equipped with a cloaking device but its effectiveness was reduced as the Borg technology interfered in its operations. A crew of 1,200 were needed to operate this class of destroyers.

By 2409, the Tal Shiar began deploying this vessels where they attempted to aggressively bring the formation of a new Romulan government under their control. (STO website: Legacy of Romulus Dev Blog #22)
