Starbase 324 was a Federation starbase operated by Starfleet in the 24th century.
In the mid-2360s, Admiral J.P. Hanson was stationed at the base. Following the discovery of the Borg attack on Jouret IV in 2366, Hanson returned to the base to prepare Starfleet for a Borg invasion of Federation space. (TNG episode: "The Best of Both Worlds")
By 2371, it was the primary facility where the Federation developed defenses against the threat posed by the Borg Collective. It involved the cooperation of the Klingon Empire and a team of cloaking specialists from the Romulan Star Empire. (TOS novel: The Return)
