Synopsis

An anthology of Junji Itou's early short stories.

Background

Itou Junji Kyoufu Hakubutsukan is the second reissue of Junji Itou's short stories, after Itou Junji Kyoufu Manga Collection, and contains five new short stories which were not compiled in any previous volumes (Ganmen Kotei, Nonnon Oyabun, Nonnon Oyabun no Kakurenbo, Gentsuu Yashiki, and Abarabone no Onna).

The first 3 volumes of the series were published in English as Museum of Terror by Dark Horse Comics from August 8, 2006 to November 21, 2006. The series has also been published in English as Junji Ito Story Collection by VIZ Media since October 16, 2018. The VIZ Media release is based on the 2011 Itou Junji Kessakushuu release, and excludes chapters which were also included in Itou Junji Jisen Kessakushuu and the omnibus release of Tomie.

I did not particularly like the Souichi stories for example because they seemed to ramble on in a sense. In ...
